SAME QUESTION!

I need wider wheel/tire setup on my 560 which is having a hard time with the curves in the south of France.

The absolute widest and biggest tire you can put on the front of a 560SL is 16" x 8" with a 225/50 R16 tire. A 225/55 R16 will kiss the front extension of the fender and the 225's on an 8" rim just clear the inside fender with the suspension full up and wheel turned about 20°. I also rolled my front fenders but the 500SL AMG's were not rolled with this wheel/tire combo.

BBS made 16" wheels for the 107 chassis in 8" 9" and 10". The 9" wheels will go in the back but I suspect you will need flares for the 10" wheels.

Attached is a photo of the 225/50 R16 tires on a 129 16"x8" ET 34 wheel using 20mm spacers, for an effective ET of 14. I can tell by worn paint inside that I need an effective ET of 11.
