['93 190e 2.6] Tire Recommendation

Code:
Hello Friends.

I did review several posts regarding tires and winter driving, but
am still a bit confused regarding which tire is the best for me. I
commute between Wisconsin and Illinois, and we have just
LOVELY winters up here! I'm looking for:

*A good tire that will do well in all weather conditions, espec.
  snow.

*One that is not too expensive.

Am I dreaming, or is there such a tire? I checked out tirerack.com
and I found the Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tire reasonably priced,
and the survey results show good performance in snow.

What about snow tires, like the Pirelli Winter 160 Direzionale?
Can you only use tires like this during the winter?

What brands would you recommend for me? I would be grateful
for your feedback!

Thanks a lot,
Michael.

In my experience, I had the P4000 Super Touring tires on my 92' 190E 2.6 for a couple of years...a very good tire for 3 seasons but forget the winter. I recommend a seperate set of rims and dedicated Bridgestone Blizzacks or the like if you must drive the car in the winter...or switch to over to snows on your regular rims if you don't want to pop for another set. Tire Rack will sell a steel rim with mounted snows and a hubcap for a good deal. What's really cool is to get a Canadien or Euro hub cap..looks real good; for a plastic hub cap.

You really don't want to drive winter only tires in any other season...too loud and will wear them out quickly. Handling won't be nice either on winter tires. Hope this helps.

Try that link, real cheap. Why not get two seperates, trust me dedicated snow tires make a diff. Iw ould get 185/65/15 snow tires, and then 195/60/15 more performance touring tires.
