I have the sport c230 K with the 16 inch sport wheels and am considering getting a520's from yokohama in the 225/55/16 size for them. Just wondering what you guys think of these tires for everday and occasional autocross. Also does anyone know where I am can get them cheaper than 560 installed (luke?) or does that sound like a good price.
thanks
cavan

The A520 performs like a race tire. Great traction, corning, and braking in both wet and dry. The down side is a very hard ride and whining tread noises.

The AVS Sport has similar performance but with a very nice ride and is very quiet. Worth the extra money.

BTW, I own both of them so I am speaking from real experience.

The only size that will fit your rim and fender is 205/55/16. Don't order anything but this size.

Well what would you suggest for a better tire if a520's are too noisy. I like the performance and look of the a520's, any suggestions for around the same price? Luke, any ideas?
thanks guys

check out the Sumitomo HTR Z II. It is much quieter and does perform very well especially in the wet.

I would do 225/50/16 all the way around. I know its been done with no rubbing whatsoever with the sport-option wheels. I kinda like the Yoko A520, and don't mind road noise since i am almost always driving with window/sunroof open. But I would keep that as my second choice on the budget buy. I really do like the Bridgestone RE730 for best-bang-for-buck. They are alittle more, but are nice perfromers.

The RE730 is a very good tire and performs great in the dry or the wet and with a rating of 300 AA A and newer tire building technology it would also be a very good choice for a little more $

Thanks, Luke
