And no reserve -- the plot thickens! They should include closeups of the rust and whatnot, though.

Driver's door has some weirdness going on with that dent and apparent repaint. For a 5 speed and the super-duper-long body I would sell my 300cd, though.

I didn't notice it was a long wheelbase....now that would probably weigh about as much as a 300td.

Still would be fast enough to be fun to drive though, IMHO, but you know, I am amused driving a 240d!

I also assumed that diesels will bring more than the average gas 126, everything else being equal. (I'm not talking about this euro example because it is rather rare, just the average gas 126).

I was thinking the price for this one should be under 3k, but for the right buyer it probably is priced right. Perhaps he would take less anyways.
  1. Quite a few very desirable things here:Getrag 5spd manual, Legendary 280E M110 ,original factory sticker still on valve cover.Very possible the this car has actual milage as stated.Especially liveing up North for so long .How many 1984 280SELs w/Factory 5spd manuals are there There are not many in this country if any

WOW with only #20,656 ever produced between1979-1985 #4598 produced 1984. That car was a steal for his asking price VERY LOW Production numbers Sure there were alot less Getrag 5 spd. manuals also.

Congratulations! I thought I had a thread reply notification that said "I'll let you know when it gets here," but by the time I looked at the thread it was gone or edited away. I didn't want to "out" you if you didn't want to be outed.

That will be a neat car; the nice thing about it is that fixing the little bit of rust and that ding, etc... are a no-brainer, given it's rarity. Sometimes you buy an old Mercedes and immediately regret putting money into it when you see a nicer one for cheaper (or the same price). No real risk of that here; you have a RARE car. Pics, please, once you get it!

EDIT: Where do you live? I suspect there may be a few of us lining up to come have a look if you're nearby. You could charge admission.
