01 ML320 ABS/ETS/BAS-ESP Lights On

Unlike other ML, these lights won't turn on when I hit the brake pedal but rather after I made a very "tight left turn" and all three light up even at very low speed. It won't happen when I made a "tight right turn". What I mean "tight left turn" is like when you turn left in a crowd parking lot. The funny thing is that when I turn left through a traffic light intersection, these light won't turn on. After I stop my truck and turn off engine, then drive straight ahead above 10 ~ 15 MPH (still on below 10 MPH), these three lights will turn off by itself. And these MIL light up again when I make a "tight left turn". I already replaced ABS relay, brake lamp switch, check the battery, resetting the ABS (turn steering wheel lock to lock), clean left front ABS wheel speed sensor tip, and check brake fluid. Please help.

John

W/O readings codes from traction system you can spend $$$$ on parts..

From description you have a speed sensor problem..Scan system & replace the bad 1 OR guess & replace all 4 of them.

I had the same problem and eventually the lights came on for hard bumps, then just came, until they came on just starting it up. I read and read, replaced the brake switch, certain relays, 3 of the 4 speed sensors, and the rest myself... all to save a few bucks. I got tired of it and sent the ml to a tech, it was the "traction control module." Total cost 670/part 300/labor, plus tax. I've had it back for a few days now and love it. It is finally fixed.

I hope this helps.
