I see, now that M-B is bringing the G500 into North America, there are a few scale models of the vehicle on toy store shelves. I think I'll get my wife one for Christmas to see how she likes it. :p

Dean, I have found the lwb G to be a great tow vehicle. I use it to tow my Porsche to the track and my boat to the lake. It doesn't have any trouble with either task. The car and trailer run about 5000lbs, the boat under 3000. With the V8 in the G500 you will have no problems. My 300GE was a little weak, the G320 has no trouble. I suppose the 500E is about 1000lbs heavier than my car, still I think the G will do it. Keep in mind that the G has wieght on its side for towing. It comes in 1000lbs heavier than the likes of a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Ford Exploder, plenty of stability. I bet it is much better than the ML as well. I think its tow capacity is 7000lbs.

Boy, that picture of the 500E and G500 together is awesome! What a great pair. I would snap one of my G next to my wifes 750 if I could ever get it out of the shop(hate to love that Beemer!). I'll get her into an S55 yet.

I can't find a tow spec for the G500 on the MBUSA site. How
much can a 2002 G500 tow in the US as per MBUSA's specs?

M-Class Europe: 3.5 tons - 7717 lbs
M-Class USA: 5000 lbs

MBUSA just updated the G specs. The G500 can tow 7000 lbs according to their website.

sorry OT: ricardo, the 230E has Blue MB-Tex interior.. a far cry from the leather.. the engine has half the number of cylinders.. and less than half the capacity.. half the performance (it probably takes 12 secs to reach 100km/h).. but i love it nonetheless..
