Yeah, Kerry did a Nathan Bedford Forrest* on Bush with the 9/11 thing. Kerry's team is far and away superior to Bush's in getting defensible arguments out before Bush. Leaves Bush either arguing against a good idea or playing, "Me too." reminds me of Clinton's excellent team in the same regard. Are any of the same players onboard?

*Asked how he won a particularly surprising victory Forrest responded,
"Ah got theah fustes' wit the mostes'".

Bot,
Is it the the Kerry team is better than the Bush team at getting to the smarter ideas first? Or is it that the Bush team doesn't have a clue HOW TO LEAD FROM THE FRONT?
How much common sense does it take to fund Homeland Security BEFORE debating gay marriage?
Tom Ridge stood in front of us 2 weeks ago and said the terrorists were planning to attack us before the election, hell they even discussed rescheduling the election. What was the Bush response? To go down to the ranch and take the week off.
If I were running the Bush campaign I would have had the President stay in Washington, acting Presidential and railing the Congress to come back from their 6 week vacation to do WHATEVER was necessary and within their power to improve our security.
But I'm not running Bush's campaign, all I do is LIVE here and see with my own 2 eyes a President that "SAYS" his highest priority is protecting us, while his actions belie those words.

I guess its whatever you believe it is.

And I guess we all know that you can dispute the indisputable. My beliefs are rooted in FACT, based on DEMONSTRATED ACTIONS or more correctly INACTIONS. What are your beliefs rooted in?
Or do you believe that the Bush administration has succeeded in its goal to protect us and that the USA is now impervious to a terrorist attack?
Again, let me pose this is as common sensical a manner as possible cause maybe I'm just stupid.
If we're under threat of imminent attack (Tom Ridge's words, not mine) should we:
A) Debate Gay Marriage?
B) Take the week of the DNC off?
C) Talk about doing something about the 9/11 panel's recommendations sometime after the election?
D) Invade Iraq (oh wait! that's what we did last time)
E) Film some campaign ads?
F) DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY, IN THE LIMITED TIME WE HAVE LEFT, TO SECURE EVERY PORT, NUKE PLANT, CHEMICAL PLANT, FUND COMPLETELY HOMELAND SECURITY, EQUIP FIRST RESPONDERS, COORDINATE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT ETC., ETC., ETC.?
Go ahead, educate me.

But if Kerry gets into the White House then i'm moving to Canada, or Germany.

So far Bush has been doing a good job with the war and other things going on in the world.

spencerbandit88

Bye!

spencerbandit88 08-01-2004 01:14 AM

Oops my bad... just a little but mad.
I don't want my tax dollars going to things like welfare though.

But I will move to Canada or Germany.

STOP KERRY: VOTE!

I thought welfare reform was a successful Clinton event. I thought he was a democrat. All that is beside the point that I would rather spend American tax money helping Americans to a better standard of living first instead of after large groups of people in foriegn lands who are presently killing Americans at will, and they seem to have a lot of will to kill us. Jim

Well these people on welfare...... NEED TO GET JOBS TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN ECONOMY, NOT LIVE ON IT!

A worthy goal. But as high paying jobs are exported and replaced with half as many, low paying jobs, this can be a little more difficult. And when the only available job nets you the same or less than a handout, well, even your dog would know which choice to make. Seems it is a republican party objective to maximize corporate profits, even when that means outsourcing your job. Good luck, Jim

spencerbandit88 08-01-2004 01:56 AM

Well a jobs a job. If your working on transmissions for MB or scrubbing toilets at Chevron.
A JOBS A JOB, get off of welfare.
I hate it when people live off of our tax dollars. THAT INCLUDES IMIGRANTS... Yeah welcome to American, learn the language NOW! and get a job NOW!

KirkVining 08-01-2004 01:59 AM

Actually, Bush's greatest success as president has been putting people on welfare. Let's give him credit for a job well done!

spencerbandit88 08-01-2004 02:06 AM

Well I think that welfare should be stopped or make it so that you don't have to give your tax money to it but that you can donate money to it, but I just don't want my money going to someone who won't go out and get a job.

spencerbandit88

JimSmith 08-01-2004 02:12 AM

Wouldn't that be nice. Voters with veto power on the use of their tax dollars. I can think of a lot of stuff I wouldn't fund. But you could donate to them. That might work, if you were really generous. Jim
