Lot of MB's haulin ass.

While discussing the safety of german cars footage was shown of a SL flipping down the highway and the passengers exiting the car without injury.

I'm sitting here watching/enjoying it as I type this. First run shown was a RUF test driver running a RUF car to 212 at 7200 rpm. Looks like fun.

I just recently got out of Drivers ED. They showed the clip of the SL flipping over and over, then the Driver exiting as if nothing happend. Then they told us the top three safest manufactures of automobiles:
1. Mercedes-Benz
2. BMW
3. Volvo

The teacher asked everyone if they knew anyone that owned a MB, I raised my hand proudly and stated that I had just boughten one

That footage was insane.

He did 212 at night to! Talk about over driving your headlights.

My MB misses the Autobahn they really really like triple digit speeds.

I remember a show about high speed driving awhile back, they featured a guy that drove his Aston Martin Lagonda 200+ on a daily basis. It also featured some fast MB's Ferraris and P-Cars.

what a gas baby. On a road that used to be called Hitlers Highway.

I have a good idea, well, good to me. I think it would be very very cool if there were autobahn like roads built between Houston and Dallas, and Houston and San Antonio. The only thing is, in order to drive on the highway, you would need to present a special license stating that you took a special course on how to safely handle a car at high speeds. Anything over a certain weight would not be allowed, like buses, 18-wheelers, a few SUVs and even some pick ups. I think it would be VERY VERY cool. The closest we ever got to this was a bill that would increase the speed limit between Houston and Dallas to 80 and between Houston and Beaumont to 75. They were both killed though. The highest speed limits found on these routes are 70 most of the way up to Dallas, and 65 for most of the way to Beaumont, except a small section of I-10 near Beaumont that has a 70 mph limit. Like anyone actually follows the limits anyway!

Howdy All,
There was a show that was called the American Autobaun. It said the closest thing we have was some of the highways in Montana. Arizona is good with 75mph speed limits.
