TV shows on DVD

I liked the Sopranos re-runs on DVD so much I decided to try another one, this time one I hadn't seen first run. Started getting into "24". Freakin great. I love being able to sit down and watch a month's worth of shows in an evening. I'm watching the first season. Is subsequent seasons of this show worth watching or does it run out of gas after the first season story line? Any other good TV shows on DVD or perhaps you have rented a little know movie that turned out better than expected?

I bought the 1st season of "Everybody Loves Raymond." I never watched it but I caught one of the shows in syndication and I was hooked.

Kirk-

I am a huge sopranos/ 24 fan...season 2 of 24 is almost as good, season three was not quite up to snuff.

Lately I have been watching The Shield. Really good stuff.

I'll be glad when The Shield comes out on DVD. I really love that show, and after reading about the Ramparts Division in LA, the show is apparently drawn from real life. But its hard to kepp up with, and I've missed a bunch of them. These DVDs are great - no commericials and you can see how the stuff you missed fits in.

I have Firefly (excellent show, cancelled before its first season was up) and Millennium. As well as some Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And I have the entire season so far of Lost and Desperate Housewives on TiVo. It's very nice to be able to watch them on my schedule.

Somewhat on-topic but are earlier seasons of "The West Wing" available on DVD?

Just got hooked on that show a month ago, and it'd be nice to see the back-episodes so I can understand it more fully...

Thanks!

Beware! Due to copyright issues, the producers of some '50s and '60s TV shows on DVD, such as 'Bonanza', 'Dragnet' and 'Petticoat Junction', have replaced the original theme music. Ironically, now I get to hear the 'Mayberry' theme every time I see a Food Lion TV commercial, but not on my 'Andy Griffith Show' DVD!

Happy Motoring, Mark

It takes me awhile to warm up to a new TV series. Didn't start watching 3rd Rock until it was about done a couple years ago, and just a few months ago started watching CSI(The Las Vegas gang).
The only series I have on video (VHS in this case) is the old Fawlty Towers show.

"Airborne!" A great series, was actually sorry when it ended. I have the DVD set and just got another for my brother-in-law.
