The M112 is the V6 you are talking about. MB used them in many models from 1998-2005.

The M119 is a sweet V8 MB used from 92-99
The M120 is an even seeter V12 that was used from 92-99
The M104 is the I6 that was phased out in the late 90's by the M112 (V6)
The M113 is a V8 that replaced the M119. It is basiclay an M112 with two more cylinders. The ML430's you are talking about used these.

The six cylinder S class's are great cars. They deliver very good fuel economy and are great for around town. A 400hp V12 is wasted running around the local mall, a six cylinder is much better suited.

The M104 is a work of art. The auto trans to which most are mated don't do it justice. To 2,750 rpm it's downright serene. From there until redline is amazing.

Could not agree with that comment more. I remember driving the Mitsu 300GT/Dodge Stealth Front Drive models. It was like a fight to the death when ur foot mashed the go pedal. I have driven/owned many BMW's and other euro cars over the years... THANK GOD for rear drive!!!

How true, floor it in a late model Maxima and you had better have a death grip on the wheel.
