New (to me) Gatorade flavor

Today after a very humid, hot and sweaty practice day at the range I had to get something cool to drink on the way home. Not really in the mood for water and unable to enjoy a cold bottle of liquid bread (I have to work tonight) I settled on Gatorade. The store had a flavor I'd never seen called "Cool Blue" and I felt like experimenting. WOW, this stuff tasted great. It reminded me of my favorite Otter Pop flavor - the blue one ( when we get Otter Pops for the kids I hide the blue ones for me ). My all time favorite Gatorade flavor has to be Cherry Rush, but the is hard to find. These newer flavors sure beat the old standby Orange and Green.

Anyone else have the chance to try "Cool Blue"?

Gatorade is practically 'liquid bread'...just hasn't fermented yet.

Ah, but the liquid bread I was refering to contains yeast and I have been known to down a loaf or two sitting on the back of a truck. Only I can't partake within 8 hours of working, just like the pilots - 8 hours bottle to throttle.

Time to burn some groceries then vegitate for a bit so I can go to work in 3 hours.

i bought a cool blue by accident yesterday (meant to grad a riptide rush). i've had it before and it is good. i still like the original green but some of the new flavors are good. golfing in the 95 degree, 175% humidity yesterday i knocked off almost two quarts! very refreshing...

I think cool blue has been around for a while. I've had a light blue Gatorade before, I've have drinken them since the late 90's, but if it's dark blue like the Powerade, then no, I have not tried it.

For relief from the oppressive heat I generally carry a mixture of Gin,tonic water, and lime juice with a dash of bitters.
An ancient thermos, rumoured to have crossed the atlantic in the '30's is the vessel in which this mixture is habitually kept.

I find it very effective after 4 P.M. if taken in conjunction with my Lopressor and Digoxin.

I learned a hard lesson about gin & tonic at Houston Hobby Airport way back when. Tried one...tasted a bit like limeade...didn't feel any different...drank more...hmmm, tasty. My ride arrived, I stood up to leave and went right down, splat. A week later staying in a motel in Lockport, LA while the boat was in dry dock we bought a bunch of gin, tonic and limes at the local Beauchamps and proceeded to get all of our Fourth of July nourishment from the bottle. Good times.

Other than your gut, good gin should never touch anything but a couple of queen-sized martini olives and the inside of a chilled glass over which someone has held the cork from a vermouth bottle for say, 2 or 3 seconds.

Bad gin? Well, I just wouldn't know what to do with that.

Location: Thirsty Whale Pub, Newburyport, Massachusetts

Returning to Boston after catching an air show at Pease Air force base, I stopped into the Thirsty Whale for a beer and burger and ran into some old fraternity brothers.

They introduced me to the triple Tanqueray and tonic served in a pint glass. I didn’t make it back to Boston to Monday night. That was my last bender(but not drink, thank god).

I do. It involves tonic water, ice, three lime slices and a pint glass
