How much of a used car inspection do you spend sizing up the seller? I mean private party sellers, not professional used car salesmen. Have you walked away from a good looking car because something about the seller didn't feel right? Conversely, have you taken a chance on a less-than-cream-puff because the seller seemed on the up-and-up? When do you believe that the AC just needs a charge?

I'd like to look at the records of oil sales and oil change shop sales to see if on average folks change oil every 3000 miles. Just about everyone selling a used car claims to have the oil changed every 3000 miles, yet few people I know personally have the oil changed more frequently than the manufacturer recommends. I consider myself to take better care of my cars than the average person and I don't change the oil for at least 5000 miles... and even then grudgingly.

Well, the way I look at it is... it is so easy nowadays to get the system charged, my local shop can do the labor and charge for 1 can.... grand total: $42.50...

Why don't they just get it done and add it to the selling price (already have it figured in)...
