I work in the center of town so I have a choice of about 5-6 really good places to get lunch. I never pay more then $10 for lunch. When I am on the road I like to find nice little places, really hate fast food. I havn't had any in years I'd rather find a good deli.

Paul why don't you swing by CT? I'll bring some hot girls if you pick me up in the G5!

We must have it good here because you can order a Filet with all the trimmings at a decent place for under $20 during the lunch rush. Even Morton's is under $30.

I'm also on the Medmech luncheon plan.

I eat out fast food everyday for lunch, and try to eat healthy. Usually a burger or a sandwich, no french fries or potato chips, and a plain iced tea.

When I'm traveling on business or taking customers out, it's easy to spend $40 +.

Heck, if you ask my wife, she thinks that's all I do for work - - eat!

"You got that right!" I tell her, "I'm a professional lunch eater".

You wouldn't go to a chain here for a steak--too many other opportunities.
The Rust Belt is a cultural dead spot. We have a couple decent steak houses but the quality is on again off again Mortons is consistant and damn good. Lowrys in Chicago all the way when it comes to gooooooooood.

In order of preference

approx 4$ - leftovers from when wife and I go out to eat (usually only weekends). Price is right, cold Uno's is better lunch than warm anything else in my book =)

$8 or less- local chain/sit down restaraunt (chipotle, fridays, ruby tuesdays, UNO's (see a pattern here ?)

$7 or less - Quiznos (wife doesnt like it, so lunch is MY time =)

$6 or less - subway

I do my best to avoid the fast food, but wendys is close and we all like the "drive through, get back to surfing quicker" aspect - how do you think I learn so much about radiators ? =)

Whenever I am at home, I cook my own food. If I'm not at home then I grab whatever I can.

I usually go to a taco place for lunch. Usually get vegie burritos. I eat enough meat the rest of the time so I try to go meat free for lunch.

Pinto beans are rated one of the highest foods in anti-oxidents -- just behind blueberries.

When I pack a lunch in my li'l icebox lunchbox, I usually take a container of hummus, some bread, some salsa, and some sunflower sprouts. Those sprouts'll put lead in your pencil -- mucho mas vitality.

We're talking FRESH veggies -- still alive when you eat 'em.

The Prairie Grass Cafe in Chicago is damn good for lunch. Lunch under $20.

Alinea is the latest greatest restaurant on our shores. Get there at 6p and go through 30 courses in about 6 hours.

Not that Chicago wasn't already a big hitter with Trio and Trotter's, it's getting better... almost culinary capital status I'd say.
