Hey, I'd throw a loaf of bread at anyone who talks on their cell phone in a restaurant.

If I cannot hear the conversation, I don't care. If I can hear something, I'll ask the person "Can you repeat that again? I didn't quite catch that last sentence." and if I can hear the conversation, I add my $0.02 worth to it.

When I worked at an auto parts store, we threw many people out. Problem with an auto parts store is, the customers are already pissed when they come in. A part on their car broke, they are missing work or something to fix their crappy car, so they will often take it out on the auto parts store employees. Retail sucks, but customers at an auto parts store are a lot worse than customers at the grocer. Customers would wait outside until we closed up and start fights. One guy threw a fit and knocked all of the chemical products out of the aisle, but was too much of a wimp to hit my manager first. "F*ck you sir" flies out every few days.

Funny thing was, most of the problem customers were mechanics. And we would see them the next day again (after they told me they would kick the ***** out of me in the parking lot the night before and never show up) because we were their best source for parts. Our store isn't public property. We can kick you out as soon as you start causing trouble. Good times.

I have been going to restaurants in NY that do not cater to kids and the atmospere is a whole lot better. American parents do not seem to know how to control their kids anymore so they go buck wild, running around, screaming, throwing food on the ground. If I did that as a child my father would take off his belt and literally beat me in public. It's not only that kids are annoying but they take up valuable space in a restaurant since they don't eat much. Who would you rather serve? My girlfriend and I, where we will spend 250 bucks or a family of 4 that might only dish out 100 bucks while creating an "animal-like" atmosphere. I love restaurants that don't let kids in so I usually call over the manager and let them know that they are doing a great deed. There are so many restaurants in NJ/NY that parents can take their delinquents somewhere else where they are catered to.

About a year ago I was in a restaurant and two families got into a fight where one wife threw a loaf of bread at the other. One family decided to bring along their little savages while the other was trying to have a quiet night out. The lady without the kids said "I just fukin spent 100 bucks on a babysitter and I have to come to this crap." She did have a valid point though, nonetheless I still found it amusing how far people will go in an argument. Yep, us New Jersians are not very nice.
The problem with New Jersians, is that they go to dinner too early. Most New Yorkers don't go to dinner until 9 or after, so the kids aren't a problem.

Also, spending $250 on a 22 year old with a tattoo on her ass is probably not a good long term investment. Look for one with a horse or other trust fund hobby if you are gonna do that.

You never know. She could be the next Mrs Kamil. Also, I know of many people who have no issues in their lives, get married and get divorced before they have even paid up for the wedding. Go figure.

Hate to say it, but when I was out to Az. a few months back, they told me Pinacle Peak was no more. First time I was there (1989-F1 race weekend!), place was out in middle of nowhere. Now, I hear it is middle of civilization

I remember as a kid Pinnacle Peak being in the sticks. Last time I was there (2 yrs ago) it was surrounded by NW Tucson. Not sure if they're in biz now but, they still have a website.

I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm the only man on Earth who cooks chili with beans.

Maybe I'll start a trend. But first I'll buy stock in Beano.

There was one way out north of Scottsdale on Pinnacle Peak Rd. on the old DC Ranch. That's developed all the way to Carefree now and Nelson (the developer) was trying to make a name for his own place - “Vincent's” - may have closed the old place. They had big plans to make Phoenix classier – brought the F1 race to town and all. The old steakhouse wasn't the image they were trying to cultivate and it would be like them to close it. The one in Tucson has been dressed up a lot, but it's still there, and there was one in Orange County also.
The true original for these kinds of no frills places is a classic called “Lil Abner's” way out on the west side of Tucson, is better in every way, and can be lots of fun. It became notorious in Tucson's heyday as the “pilots” would drop their loads south of town, then go land at Maranna's airport too then go raise hell at Lil Abner's - whose owner happened to be running the whole show.
