If anyone tries it and get better milage, let us all know. so far on the diesel side testing has shown this idea to be baseless. |

I ran across this post and thought it might work to increase gas miles because it cleans ring packs and that takes less gas for your engine when they are clean. I live in Dayton Beach, Florida and gas is already at $ 3.10 a gal.
Daryl Auto-Rx cleans contaminants down and into the surface of the oil lubricated rotating parts (you now have a surface) which will reduce friction (drag) when oil is applied. All oil lubricated parts have from the factory a designation called "Mean Time Before Failure" of the part. This calculation is from metal use-contamination-oil cleanliness to name a few criteria. Auto-Rx will extend that MTBF equation by simply cleaning and go on Auto-Rx Maintenace Plan. No chemistry can repair boken parts. Auto-Rx can alter the effects of wear for the above reasons. Once the metal is clean it will go back to OEM Tolerances (worn or not) you already know Auto-Rx cleans ring packs while you drive thereby restoring compression and upping efficency of your combustion. Gas Prices keep going up Auto-Rx guarantees you satisfied results or N/C I know my chemistry and so do most of you. Thank You T |

All kinds of gas-saving craziness is about to come out of the woodwork.
One thing that I really think might be a doable idea on an MB is some sort of 8-4 fuel injection shutdown, where only 4 cyls get gas at cruise speeds. Even if the system were fully manual and stuttered during a switch, it would be worth having. I can deal with the 15MPG city of my car but the 17 hwy is a murderer.

You guys really should live in the UK, then you would know what high fuel costs are really like
And as for adding random chemicals pertaining to 'clean' or increase efficiency - you gotta be kidding me - NO WAY!!

Hi there,
I've been using the acetone from Ace Hardware in my '82 Mercedes 300D/4.3L V6 for a few months now, and the addition of 2 oz/tank seems to increase the mileage about 8 percent over no acetone. My 82 has throttle body injection. Don't know if the type of fuel system makes a difference or not. Before trying it, checked the products available at the local Schucks Auto supply house, and it looks to me like the major ingredient in most gasoline additives is acetone, as much as 60 percent in many cases. Regards,

Actually, no, I have not used it in MY V8 as I am the proud owner of a straight six, however, the if I understood all the gobble-dee-gook, I might be inclined to try it in my "Commuter Commando" '93 Honda Civic with 310K kms which would be the best indicator. Keep you posted.

Being that I had some laying around and the ratio was so small I tried it twice with 2 different ratios. It dident do a thing.

actually, if one is having difficulty passing emissions. One could put a gallon of acetone in a tank of fuel and run it through. Worked for my little mountain truck.

If one can't pass emisions rubbing alcohal works wonders.
This stuff is nothing more then junk science with a website.
