Getting set for next week's 3-day SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) conference in Madison with engineers from around the upper mid-west, Canada and the rest of our country. Then, Saturday (next week), I'll be in Madison, again, for "FreakFest" - playing security guard and busting underagers 'til the wee hours of the early Sunday morn.

Oh, what fun...

The conference, though, should be great...we've increased the pre-registration to well over 200% from any other conference held to date and the exhibit booths are sold out and wanting for more space...and to top it all off, the National SBE is holding their annual meeting during our clinic. Another great time for Wisconsin to show off their best for all to see.

Now, all we need is for Bucky to hold his own over the Hawkeyes...let's see how that plays out Saturday afternoon!

Just boarded my Southwest flight to Hartford via Baltimore, exit row aisle seat. Woot!

Been in Santa Fe on business but was glad to get a chance to meet up with my sister in Taos on Tuesday-Wednesday morning and then again last night for dinner with her BF and his family. My first vegetatian meal ever and it was fantastic! Really looking forward to getting back home to the family, though. Scheduled to get in at 6:50 so still a few hours to go.

Nah, not vegetarian, Swampie had a "vegetatian" meal. They just turned him loose in the pasture and let him graze.

'course they DID put out a fresh salt lick for him.

That's about what I pictured beforehand. Although truth be told, I did put some cheese on it! (homemade burritos, guacamole, salsa, beans, green chili w/tofu and rice)

Holding my breath until then. No doubt would be a most enjoyable time together.

Tonight is shaping up to be a laze about the house with a hawt red head sort of night. Oh darn .

Got a frost warning for tonight, and we're trying (mostly on principle at this point) to sneak in a second batch of squash since the $#(%$*#)*$&#&#(@)#*$% stink bugs destroyed the first round. Means half an hour of dropping tarps over the boxes where the delicata and butternuts are trying to do their thing. Also covered some of the remaining tomato plants, thinking we're going to try and winter over a couple plants in the office. Moved all the citrus inside, plus the avocado plant, and the assorted house plant sort of things that had been living on the porch.

Darling Wife hath decreed that it is time for exercise (been doing DDR on the Wii we snagged for stupid cheap off craigslist). Which means I have to go sit back and watch her dance her arse off for half an hour. Oh darn, Version 2.0

All of the speakers are in. I ran about 600' of speaker cabling all over my house and put in lots of speakers everywhere, recessed light fixtures, ran some new electrical circuits, and moved some walls around. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get the basement at least partially insulated, furred out, and dry walled so I can get my home theater stuff moved around and re-situated in it's proper locations. If I'm really productive, maybe I'll even get all the interior doors replaced tomorrow.
Looking forward to when I have this thing finished and can have a GTG at my place!

Swamp has too much class to drink out of the bottle . . . .

I'm sitting here having a Dark & Stormy. Anybody out there drink those? Gosling's Dark Rum and ginger ale.
