I thought today was Thursday....

In any case, weekend project is to pull the shingles off 1/3 of the roof, and replace the membrane underneath.... We had a little roof leak this past winter, and want to take care of it.

Ahh. Mom & Dad have been at Emerald Isle for a couple of weeks and are staying through Monday. I jealous. If you run into a silver-haired guy that looks like me but wearing shoes, let him buy you and yours a beer and take ya'll on a boat ride;)

Oh, I'm on lockdown--4 wks or so 'till #3 arrives so we can't travel. Looks like I missed you in Chicago on my final run by a few days. This will be the second 4th in my life (first b/c of birth of #2) not spent on the Chesapeake and I have no idea what to do.... :(

Got the call we've been dreading for the past few months...my MIL has started down the final path...they stuck a morphine drip into her, yesterday, about 1030(am). Her jaw has gone "slack" (apparently, that's another sign) and it's just a matter of time...

The "X"'s Big Brudder is being somewhat of a jerk and it's causing a bit of an "issue" with some of the planning on what's going to happen, where and when it will happen and the related anxieties...

Light a few candles for us... It looks like I'll be taking her down AFTER mom goes ("X" can't bare to see her mother weighing any less than 100 lbs. like she was back a few months ago...she about 80 lbs. now...), the "funeral" at Camp Butler in Springfield, IL. is about all she wants to handle considering the way her brother has been acting...she hoping the other brother is better but she's not sure how that's going to play out either...I'm the "sounding board" and "scratching post" for this trip I guess...

On the lighter side...

I'm still doing the RiverFest thing this week and today's the biggest/baddest/busiest day of the Fest...people started putting blankets and related ground-cover out LAST NIGHT in anticipation of having the best spot...sorta's sucks that everyone has to step over everyone elses' crap for a whole day just because someone wants "prime real estate"for about 30 minutes of fireworks... Oh well, if it's going to happen, it already has legs and it's on its merry way...

Hey folks...whatever you're doing this weekend, please stay safe and sound...we don't want any "open space" on the forum...you'd be missed otherwise...

Enjoy... :thumbup1:

SwampYankee 07-04-2009 09:40 AM

Sorry to hear that, mg. Thoughts and prayers are with your x-MIL and family.

As to the lighter part, will do!

Dee8go 07-10-2009 01:08 PM

It's Fry-Dee again. Woohoo! I'm not at the beach this Friday, but it's all good. I have much stuff to do around the house this weekend that I've been putting off for a long time, so that's what I'll be doing.

I guess I'll have to forgo the National Barbie Collector's Convention downtown tomorrow . . . .
