i know right? they probably started out with two pounds. In Texas someone would have gone to jail, maybe even the penn...

Would it have been a distribution charge if all five of the senior citizens claimed possession?

I did the division before I made the comment--still each charged would have had more than 28 grams, which is enough for poss. w/intent to distribute here. Don't know about La., but they are lucky as hell, Willie or not, if they got misdemeanor cites. Still could face up to a year in jail though.

I wonder why he carries that much? I caught him at an outdoor show last year (getting pretty weak, even though he is a hero) and folks must have thrown 1/2 lb. worth of rolled joints onto the state.

Does the way that the weed is packaged matter in distribution cases? Maybe they had it all in one of those gallon-sized freezer bags as opposed to single ounce baggies.

Depending on the cop, it still can. Heck, I brought my parents home from the hospital a few months ago and my dad left a bottle of prescribed valium in the car. I didn't know it was there, but the cop that pulled me over for driving too slow(it's a long story, I don't have depth perception) one night found it. I'm almost forty, and had to go through the humiliation of calling my parents in front of the cop so he could verify my story. It must have been a slow night.

I got it!

John Doe, I have an extremely important legal question that I want you to commit to answering on the internet (Hahaha!).

I have this skin cancer. I'm thinking I need something to help me eat. Think you can hook me up with Willie?

Sure, Willie Wonka. Then you get a hold of Willie Nelson and the three of you can whip up some killer brownies. Call me when they're done, Bot.

Well you wouldn't have to drive far to get it, because its grown at Ole Miss. They used to grow it at Clemson too, but even if they still did, I would hate for you to have to drive that far of a returned drive stoned

From Wiki:

United States
Currently, seven people receive medical marijuana shipments from the US Federal Government [6] as part of the Compassionate Investigational New Drug program, including Irvin Rosenfeld, a 52-year-old stockbroker who has been featured in numerous print articles and on the Penn & Teller: Bull****! cable television series. Rosenfeld has been receiving the federal marijuana since 1983. The marijuana is grown on a farm at the University of Mississippi in Oxford and each person receives 300 joints a month.

300 joints per month?!?!??!? Ten joints a day?!??!?!?!??!!?

They probably had a hunch that Willie was gonna smoke all of it.

Willie also drives a WVO car

I heard Willie singing the praises of his WVO car on TV a few weeks ago. Maybe he's figured out a way to get a 300D to run on pot now.

There's a story that has been posted here many times about a 300TE or 300DT that runs back and forth across the country on hemp oil.

Its pretty discretionary here, but with that much, I promise he would be charged with a felony just on the aggregate weight. I have a case like that now I represent a doctor's kid who is a student at a very expensive college. He bought two oz in 1/4 baggies from a guy that was selling out of a drive through restaraunt window. This kid drives a $40K vehicle, had $6K in his bank account when busted (allegedly ran a stop sign, had it sitting in the car in plain view, plus the cop could smell it), has good grades and the money is forensically traceable as coming directly and entirely from his father. He had no cash to speak of on him when he was busted, no empty baggies in the car, ect.... He bought 2 oz at the time, so he could keep it in his freezer and wouldn't have to risk getting busted by exposing himself to multiple buys of smaller amounts He is charged with felony possession with intent to distribute. I think they will have a hard time proving intent to distribute, but probably are bluffing so I will offer to plead him to "possessing more than 30 grams but less than 250", which is still punishible by up to 1 year in jail and $1K fine, whereas as currently charged as a felony, subjects him to up to 3 years and $3K fine.
