Drove the RR Corniche with the top down back in '84, going north on Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL.

Silver over Black leather.

And here, the fastest car I've ever driven is my 4.5 at a mere 145MPH (indicated)

I envy you all who have gone above 150.

The fast car I have driven myself was a '69 300SEL 6.3.

Which consequently resulted in a missed 90 degree left turn on a wet asphalt surface, after successfully passing a Turkish countryman in his green Ford ‘Taunus’ with a certain attitude of impatience and 'The Tubes" playing at immeasurable decibels from the tape deck, by exiting into a pile of snow coming to an abrupt halt.

The low-end torque on Bentlys is hard to describe,, like getting a push start from God.
Too bad it's almost anemic compared to the twin-turbo V12 Mercedes engines. I too will be sending my ECU & TCU to Renntech very soon. Instead of close to 600 lb-ft of torque, I'll have over 740 lb-ft of torque with stage 1 ECU.

i'd like to see a 50 to 75 mph rolling acceleration test between them.

that cummins is amazing when spooled up from 2500 to 3200 rpm.

I too would be interested to see how the N/A V-12 does against the Cummins engine even with a much higher Cd.

In the 1/4 the truck may almost do it. But these cars are not ment for the 1/4. In an open road race not a chance the S600 would walk away. I can't imagin that truck passing the 150 mark, a speed the MB just glides by.

In the real world(70 to 100 on the freeway)..that truck will beat a Benz S600 so bad ...the guys whole family would be bruised..

I have rolled with a SL65 600+hp/700+tq from 70 to 100 on the freeway the little Benz pulled me by 2 cars.... Many a Bmw,Porche 911,MB,Corvette.. many have been shocked by my mild Cummins turbo intercooled truck..

Did he ask you to sit on his lap or did you just jump on?

An 03 S600 doesn't pull a 10.4 second 1/4 mile. According to wikipedia an Enzo will pull a 10.8! Beyond the 125mph the drag will limit the car but then again most races are from the stoplight not at 125mph plus......or are they.

Yes the Cd is much worse.....I think the point is that the Cummins motor is the gem not the platform in which it it resides. The bonus is outrunning or keeping up with cars that cost 10x more can be beat by a truck that burns fuel at $0.55 per gallon.
