I know that Polk Community college's classes for the AA will transfer as most of my friends have done that to USF,FSU,UF, and UCF.. I will be taking the engineering core classes.. which will be... fun.. and granted I score a 2 on my AP govt test I will have a spot open for more crapola..

thanks for that book website.. its all about saving money... no loans is what im really shooting for.. even If I just get my AA(I doubt it.. I want to go masters in something.. engineering) I will still be the first this side of the fam to go to college

Loans aren't that bad. I had to borrow money to go to school, but paid off the loans in 18 months after I started working. That borrowed money made the difference between being able to stay in school and not.

Yes within reason loans are the way to go. I don't recomend getting oneself in a $120k hole for a job that pays $40k a year; hope you liked your college education because you will be paying it off until you die!

Anyway Amazon is where I get most of my books. I go to the book store the week before and figure out what I need, then I get them online. If one book is pretty expensive I ask the professor if I can use the last edition, usualy the last edition is the same as the currant. If they don't have a problem with that as Kerry said you save about 95% on the price of a new book.

The first semester I paid about $500ish for books from the store, now I average about $200 per semester, sometimes less.

Congrats, man! Just saw the post.

As far as the social aspect of college life, I would have been better off doing 2 years at a CC or 2yr college than jumping right into the fray at UConn (actually I should have done 4yrs in the military first). At the time UConn was in the Playboy Top 10 for party schools (we were in the top 5). I only speak for myself, but for some people easing into the college scene will be a lot more beneficial.
