A woman a few blocks away was tearing up her driveway. It was made up of 100 year old bricks (from when Minneapolis had streetcars).
She was going to have them hauled off, but my wife HAD to have them for future landscape projects -- so we made about 20 trips with her BMW and my E55. Loaded up the trunks. No problems, just made sure the trunks were lined with old tarps. I throw my AmStaff and Pitbull in the S600's rear seat, but again, make sure there's a blanket on the seat cushion. So you can haul a lot of stuff in sedan, just have to think it out first.

It *is* a matter of planning... to carry wheels/tires in a 126, for example, I've met up with people at GTGs to buy wheels... they ask, where are you going to put them. That's easy, I say... you can put tires on the leather, or put the leather above the tires! Even a SWB W126 can eat two sets of Audi 17"s... just remove both rear seat cushions, stack up the wheels, then put the cushions back in *atop* the pile of tires. No harm to the upholstery and jaws will gape as you shut the doors...
As for the off-road, I dunno, but I do find the W126 the best rough-road car I've owned. It wafts over washboard roads with no complaint. CDs don't even skip...

It's that supple suspension. The El Camino 600 with air suspension has the 126 beat though.

I've had a policeman and my daughters driving test administrator both tell me that my insurance card which says MERC on it was for a Mercury... the tester said "it says Mercury" and I had to say "no it doesn't, it says MERC"

I should have gotten out of a speeding ticket because a retarded cop didnt even know what he meant from his own notes writing down MERC, but the judge was equally retarded.

Its not a truck so be mindfull of the ground clearance. You do not have AWD, well unless you have a 4 matic. If you have pretty agressive street tires, do not go off road when/where its wet. If you hit mud you are SOL. Branch's scratch your paint, so don't bush wack unless you don't care about the paint. If you take your time you can get a car pretty much anywhere say a Chevy S10 or Dodge Dakota can go.
