It would be much better if candidates offended countries friendly to the United States and sucked-up to countries unfriendly to the USA.

Like Jimmy Carter.

Or seek approval from foreign governments hostile to the USA and come back to American lamenting that the USA is not liked or respected in the global community. Like Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Al Gore.

Or blamed entrepreneurs for the failure of poor people to drop the crack pipe, take birth control, and get to work. Like John Edwards.

I remember when people said that Reagan, a minor Hollywood actor, didn't spend enough time working on the government's business and spent too much time on his ranch. Worse, he said that the government isn't the solution to the problem, it IS the problem.

Vast over-simplifications.

No *****, Sherlock.

Now turn that analytical eye to the statements above concerning Thompson and see if there isn't some sort of resonance.

You crack me up, Bot!

I think Fred Thompson would probably make as fine a president as anyone. He's played political leaders on TV and the movies, so he has credibility and experience.

This is pretty much the most laughable statement I've read in a long time.

So, playing political leaders on TV and in Movies, warrants for credibility and experience ???

God bless America, it really needs it!

Ignore his or any candidates views....I am so sickened by how the media spins candidates by how much money they have. If that is the case then the offices of our country are purchased, not elected.

Considering that 92% of the American public thinks blood is blue -- I would say that expecting them to have a firm understanding of complex geopolitical matters is probably a far reach!

I obviously do not speak for anybody but myself on this or any other issue, but as for me, I never assume that a person with an opinion different from my own is ignorant. Instead, prefer to allow them to demonstrate their mastery without assumptions on my part.

With patience and careful analysis, the truth will out.
