Their is a valid argument that states that people will rise to your expectations.

I don't necessarily ascribe to it in all circumstances, however, there is ample evidence that it exists in a corporate environment with the supervisor/employee dynamic.

I realize that you're not an employee, however, you might contemplate the argument and see how it may apply to you.

However, I have some experience in walking around thinking that most people are a bunch of morons. It's not a pretty situation.

You can extrapolate the same behavior toward people who will behave badly or do you harm............

I expect the worst from people. Not everything. Just people. Therefore, my calculations usually include those. Anything else that somebody does is icing on the cake.
