I've got 2 kids home with the pukies, one home with the snots/coughs/fever so I'm not looking forward to spending the evening in the germosphere. My daughter and I are holding strong but I'm not sure how long we can keep it up.

This afternoon I've got to build a cover to go over the stairway that goes down under our main grass seed mixer. We having the 35yo 5hp electic motor replaced with a new 90.5% efficient one and of course it hangs right over the stairwell. The electrical contractor would do it, but for their cost of 2 guys at $80/hr. each + materials I can take down a railing and build a platform and let them do what they're best at.

Good luck with the kids and avoiding the sickness yourself.

Go buy this:

I use it and it works.

Pray that the pukies don't turn into the Hershey Squirts!   :D

And watch out for a second round of the Coughing Crud that's rearing its ugly head...I'm coming out of that for the second time this season...hit Friday night and I'm still a bit sore in the diaphram 'cause of it...

LOTS OF WATER (no fermetation is involved) and aspirin...

I'm sore...

Here's hoping you feel better soon Mark.

Ditto!

No Hershey squirts this time around. Fortunately the stomach thing only seems to be about a 8-12 hour deal. The coughing crud sounds less pleasant! That's probably what my oldest had which seems to have festered into bronchitis.

I can't wait for it to warm up so we can air out the house!

Thanks guys...I just got up an hour ago and inside of mouth had a thick lining in it...I scraped it off and I feel a bit better...is it even possible to cough hard enough you can't taste anything? I tried an English muffin with a little butter on it and the butter doesn't taste like anything...it's just...wet...

Oh well...I'm hanging in there...see ya' in the morn'.

BTW: We're suppose to be getting 5"-8" of crud (weather-wise) in here, starting around 1700 (that's 5 PM Central for you folks in Berkeley... :D), starting with Ice, Sleet and then, snoooooooooooowwwwwwwww...

It looks like it's going all across the state, North of and just south of the I-90 as it heads east past Tomah, WI.. I suspect if the Low and High Pressure Systems stay in a relatively easterly path...Michigan/Indiana/Chicago and the eastern Great Lakes might be getting whacked pretty good too for the weekend...hang in there folks...spring ain't here yet!!

Swamp, hope everyone is on the mend at your house and all is well.

mgburg 03-11-2009 01:43 AM

Geeeeese...nothing really changed from two weeks ago weather-wise...slippery roads and high winds...feels like a blizzard this morning...

I'm loading the truck and heading back to Decatur right now...the MIL is doing a little better after yesterday morning...a little rough after the 4 bags of chemo on Thursday, Friday and Saturday...we'll see how she pulls through to the weekend...

Have fun today and try to stay warm...it's dang chilly out this mornin'!

This hump day is not off to a great start. I found out my little buddy, Leo, may have lung cancer. :( I don't think he ever smoked. I don't know how this happened, but the mood around here is definitely down today.

Crap Dee that sucks:( Thought leukemia was the big scare with cats. Sorry.

Chad300tdt 03-11-2009 09:49 AM

Sorry Tom, I hope everything works out.:(

Thanks. My other little friend has been sitting in my lap most of the morning, keeping me company. I think she is missing her playmate, too.

Mistress 03-11-2009 10:24 AM

Dee8go- Sorry to hear about Leo, he is a great cat and has been a good friend to many.:(

$h!t, sorry to hear that Dee!

My hump day is grey, cold and drizzly already.

On top of that my wife and I met with a CFP this morning to try to get ourselves in some semblance of financial order. Some may think CFP's are a waste of money but I really benefit from our sessions since they help keep me focused. It would be fairly straightforward if not for my son Garrett. We're meeting with an attorney to get his Special Needs Trust set up to make sure those i's are dotted and t's crossed. Once we address the Trust everything else more or less falls into place. Then it's onto the Will. Lots of death talk.

Dee8go 03-11-2009 11:27 AM

I think that makes a lot of sense, Swamp. I had my will redone last year and set up trusts for my kids. That's good to do even if they don't have any special needs. Hopefully, our kids will all appreciate all this stuff one day.
