In other news. Don just took a test in his teaching class, filling out scholarships, looking at college, thinking about doing calc, and is hungry. |

Man-O-man, you can't ask for better service than that, Joe!
This Wednesday finds me hard at work selling . . . myself. No, I haven't turned to prostitution. I'm looking for another job, though. This is not a good time to be involved in pursuits of this kind! |
One day until my annual pilgrimage to MARDI GRAS!

What the heck? I walk out to go to work and snow is falling......Hey everyone have a great day.

Trying to pay attention to work and the mild level of insanity that is brewing around here this morning.....
Brain and heart are having a really tough time keeping focused though. They both are much more inclined to meander off thinking about dear sweet giant of a man John Miller, who passed away last night (see this thread and for more information and his Caring Bridge site for peoples thoughts about John). It really isn't that often that you meet someone and just instantly feel right calling him friend - John was one of those rare people. John was helping us get our new old house in Frederick up to FHA standards, and we had him lined up to help us get The Cottage for Ma and Ed ready to move them into by the first of April. Not sure how we're going to replace his services, and completely certain we're going to miss his laughter, miss watching his eyes light up when we showed him cool nooks and spaces and tossed ideas back and forth about how to best make use of them, miss him cat fishing with his tape measure, miss him teasing Jack the Crazy Border Collie Mix. Darling Wife taught me a phrase shortly after I met her: "(s)he's good people." John - he's good people. Rest in peace my friend, and know your love profoundly affected your family, your friends, and all of us lucky enough to have had you in our world, no matter how briefly. |
My day will be filled with sleep and mental masturbation...then I'll go back to work tonight and start it all over again!

I'll be playing on tall, metal ladders (not exactly OSHA approved anymore), with fishing line, video cable and an antenna or two, a few splitters/combiners and a few HD sets today...oh...and some electricity mixed in for the sparks and related excitement!
How's everyone else doin'? |
Wednesday already? Wow. The sun is shining and it's not too cold so its all good.

I finally got the last of the prices I was waiting for and finished up my hardware and equipment price just in time for the turf show in Providence next week. Word on the street is that spring is coming! I wish it would hurry it's @$$ up.
I've got 2 kids home with the pukies, one home with the snots/coughs/fever so I'm not looking forward to spending the evening in the germosphere. My daughter and I are holding strong but I'm not sure how long we can keep it up. This afternoon I've got to build a cover to go over the stairway that goes down under our main grass seed mixer. We having the 35yo 5hp electic motor replaced with a new 90.5% efficient one and of course it hangs right over the stairwell. The electrical contractor would do it, but for their cost of 2 guys at $80/hr. each + materials I can take down a railing and build a platform and let them do what they're best at. |
