Woot!

Got a ratified contract on The Cottage for Ma and Ed.

If anybody had asked me 3 years ago if I thought I'd ever own a house again, I woulda looked at 'em like they had three heads. Now I'm gonna have two (houses - not heads , err, ah, wait - oh, never mind - you know what I mean).

Well, technically, 1.5 since The Cottage will be halfsies with me and Darling Wife owning .5, Twin Brother of DW owning other half.

We should be able to close by first week in March, and move Ma & Ed in first week in April. Assuming of course we make time in between those two dates to tear out drop ceilings, build kitchen cabinets, add some variety of heat to the place, and add an upstairs bath.

Anybody wanna come swing a hammer in Frederick this spring? :P

Mike D 02-11-2009 05:02 PM

Congrats on the contract!

'course now, you're back into the "joy" of owning two houses again, and I quote, "we make time in between those two dates to tear out drop ceilings, build kitchen cabinets, add some variety of heat to the place, and add an upstairs bath."

and the lawn, and the gutters and the......

File a what!? We had no plan.

Well – KDAL to ADM then local radius 150nm below 015 active until closed.

A bit gusty at times. Had one guy get sick. But managed to put it down before he launched in the ship (Shelbys 407… That would have been a baaaaad thing.) Nobody *****ed about the fuel stop. Just lots of: “Look for damage…look for damage…look for damage…” and “Can we land there?!!” (why, hell yes we can)

Got to take Stephanie Courtney for a nice ride this morning.
(Think: Progressive, Flo)
What an absolute awesome gal she is. Very polite and very funny without trying. One of those “like you’ve known them forever” type of people. Almost made me want to switch insurance companies….almost…

You should go commercial and think about a second career. :D

So,.......... Do you come here often?

Hey...how's it going?

We finally shut down our two analog transmitters yesterday right at noon...and at about 2024 this past evening...the Electrical Cooperative looses its power from its supplier, a "few substations" are without power, my transmitter bites the "dark side" of transmission and I'm driving back to Colfax, during the "storm," to wait for the power to come back and then I can "super" the return of the new Digital transmitter to the air...

Today will be all about people not being able to see the end of "IDOL" and not having the station "scanned" and whatnot...

I'll be getting up around 0830 after about 4 hours of sleep and head back to La Crosse...

God...I'm tired...

WOOT!!!!! Our counteroffer for my old house was accepted last night. No more Mr. 2 mortgages.

Since we only moved out on February 7th, I think 11 days ain't bad. Talk about good luck! :)

SwampYankee 02-18-2009 07:44 AM

I'm trying to figure out how I want to reorganize our retail store area, only about 1000 sq.ft. of floor space but kind of an odd shape and layout. I'd really like to separate our packet seed displays from our lawn care products and fertilizer just for (customer's) psychological reasons. I may have to break down and make some new product display islands which I had been trying to avoid.

Nor do I. :o And that's an interesting idea!

We call it retail, but it's for all of our walk-in customers. 95% wholesale, mainly lawncare and local golf guys, but the homeowners still find us even though we don't advertise our location (we'd rather they buy our stuff from the stores that sell our stuff and don't want to compete with them, we never discount retail sales and are usually higher priced than our distributors for that reason). It's obvious the store area was an afterthought when they built it in the warehouse 40+ years ago.
