Well, the Hump Day is off to a humpy start. I caught the corner of the house backing out the driveway this morning, nice little crease in the rear passenger fender just in front of the fuel door to the center of the wheel arch. :o:mad::o:mad: At least it's the fender with the patch of rust in it so I'd be addressing that spot sometime in the future. The grey house paint really accentuates it.

I guess I can't make fun of the 90yo neighbor's Grand Marquis, and its touch-and-go parking scars, anymore.

Lousy way to start off the day. Look on the bright side, having a fresh dent in the side of your car will get you more room on the road. At least that how it works for me, I see that the car moving over has a big a55 dent in it, I get outta the way!! And you'll still be able to pick on the Grand Marquis just because it is a Grand Marquis.

I think I am finally done planting, so now that it's warm enough, I need to finish up last years siding project. Today is caulking day!!!

It was 95 yesterday and we're on for another 90+ today.

WOOT!

Heading to Madtown in about 15 minutes...doing a steering-committee meeting for a Broadcasters' Clinic this coming fall...might stop at the Ho-Chunk Casino in the Dells on the way back and see if I have any luck getting some of my gas money back... ;)

Gee, thanks B, I feel better now. ;) Don't you have some caulking to do???

Did you get any frost the other night? We stayed in the upper 30's here so we skirted it. Mother Nature apparently knew that our Frost Free date here in central CT was the 15th.

We missed the frost as well. That was the night after getting all the remaining plants in the ground. Got up at about 3am just to check the temperature, 38. So I think we're safe now. Of course, I got the grass seed in and all the rain forecasts went dry. But, I have a nice deep well. ;) FWIW, I couldn't help myself, and ended up about doubling the size of the area I am turning into lawn. (it's about 2000 sq' now) Guess my next project should be fixing the big riding mower, as the little guy is not looking as capable any more.

Anyone got an old cub cadet they want to get rid of? My hydrostatic transaxle is starting to slip....

It's 1/2 an hour early but what the heck. I lost a good friend of mine tonight so my Wednesday isn't going to be so hot. He was one of the funniest people I ever knew within ten minutes of being in his presence I'd be laughing so hard tears would stream down my face. I'm gonna miss you Ken. Please, whatever your dreams are follow them so they become a reality.

My condolences on the loss of your friend Mistress...words fail me at this time...

Going to get that High mileage badge REAL SOON !!!

Pursuing this LDR fro Nor Cal to So Cal every 7-10 days is a LOT of driving. 450 miles each way....

I am back on the road to Nor Cal following a day of shopping with my new sweetie in Century City/Beverly Hills, once a country gal sees Bloomingdale's for the first time, how you gonna keep 'em down on the farm???!!:confused:

Sorry Mistress. Hopefully those good memories of the fun times with him will get you through the day.

Chad300tdt 06-03-2009 08:39 AM

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Mistress.

cmbdiesel 06-03-2009 09:11 AM

My condolences Mistress, sounds like he was a good friend. Keep him alive in your memory and remember the laughter.

My 6.5yo has his last Challenger League game of the season tonight, which is kind of bittersweet (one less kid in the ballgame rotation, he loves it and I get such a kick out of watching him enjoy himself). It sure doesn't look like it now but it's supposed to rain this afternoon. I hope they'll reschedule if it gets rained out.

Me, too. I used to spend time joking and laughing with Ken on speaker phone. He was one of my customers once upon a time and he was way too young to be going off to the Rainbow Bridge.

It's sunny outside this morning in the Washington DC area, but that's supposed to change to torrential downpours later on. It really poured last night! Hoo boy! I'm going to be trading my lawn mower in for a thresher this summer, it looks like . . .

How's the new gig going, Dee?

Dee8go 06-03-2009 01:09 PM

So far, so good, Swamp. It's starting off more slowly than I'd like, but I'm making definite progress. Thanks for asking.
