Back at work - came back from Vehicle Show in NOLA. I had the opportunity to sit, smell, touch, but not drive the 2010 S400 Hybrid:)

The kids are off from school thanks to the Swine Flu. We've still been pretty busy at work but I'm going to try to sneak out early this afternoon to give the Mrs. a break from the chilluns.

Stuck in Hong Kong, but should be able to get to Shenzhen tomorrow morning. Seriously overloaded brain misread expiration date on my Chinese visa as 03Jun2009 - reality is 03Jan2009, so here I sit until my new visa is ready at the Chinese embassy in the morning. Even though the queen gave the keys to this place back to China years ago, they're still two different countries, governments, currencies, cultures, etc. etc. etc.
Used the bulk of today doing what I needed to do more than anything else - sleep. Tomorrow will be meet and greet crap at the new CM, lots of meetings with lots of presentations and promises. Then home Friday, into the loving arms of my Darling Wife for at least a few hours before we head down to Baltimore to finish packing up the last of Ma & Ed's crap. No - really - crap. We spent two days packing, and didn't make a huge dent in the mountain. Then two more days with 3 friends helping, continuing the packing and moving boxes and furniture to The Cottage for Ma & Ed and our cellar (barn is already FULL of the stuff we moved out of their 5 storage units). And there is still at least one, maybe two 16' truck loads of stuff still at their town house. How the bloody hell two people can live with so much crap is beyond my ability to comprehend. |
Good luck with the visa Jim.
I'm waiting for my MIL to get here and watch the kids. Then I'm dropping the wagon off at a local indie shop to get an estimate on the front end rebuild. I hope the estimate is reasonable so I can just tell them to do the work and pick it up once it's done. I hope to get more done on my veggie garden today too. I have two more fence posts to sink and then I can start attaching the stringer boards and pickets. I should be able to put some plants in there this weekend.:cool: It's looking pretty good and I like the fact that I'm re-using the pieces of the fence that I replaced after an SUV ran through a section of it. |

It looked something like this. Seriously – From what I’ve gathered here on the forum. I think everything you’re doing is pretty awesome. Keep up the good work and have a great life. |
I got up this morning to rain and a downed gutter. Waited around (i.e. went back to bed) until the rain let up and then climbed the ladder and put everything back up. At least I know I got something constructive done today!

As for me. This “Happy Hump Day” shall start with the legendary “Ambidextrous Hand and Finger Cramping Ritual.”
Let’s see: Throttle closed. Mixture full-rich. Prop pitch set, full increase. Right hand middle finger holds down choke button. Right index finger depresses the start button. Prop rotates. Count 12 prop blades as they turn over. Not 11! Not 13! 12!!! At 12th blade, left hand reaches across to the right side of the cockpit and flips the magneto switch to “Both”. Engine ROARS to life. HUGE cloud of white smoke. Right index finger releases the start button. Right middle finger continues to hold the choke button. Left hand reaches back to the left side of the cockpit to advance the throttle one inch open. RPM increase. Oil pressure established. Right hand middle finger releases choke button. Wiggle fingers and shake hands to return blood flow... |
I'll stick to
Two detents to the left, drop 150 back to the right, one detent to the left, drop 150 back to the right. |
