My condolences, MG. Having just gone through that last year, I know what it's like.

My Hump Day started off in the crapper, but after my morning appointment cancelled on me at the last friggin' minute, I've booked a bunch more for this week. Woohoo!

It's been OVER ONE WEEK SINCE THE MIL DIED...and we still don't have a Death-Certificate signed so the body can be processed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell is going on in Central Illinois??????????????????????

Are "they" "stacking" cases because of that Burr Oak Cemetery Fraud Situation in the Chicago area???????

Sorry folks...I've been juggling my schedule for the past week just so I'm free for when the word comes that things will move forward....

Now, I find out that if/when the DC is finally signed (and it could still take up to another week!!!!! WTFF??!?!?!?!?!?), they'll be able to "release" the body, then the funeral home can take it and the cremation can begin (up to two days), then AFTER THAT (!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?), the funeral home will have to, THEN, schedule a "slot" at the military cemetery...the cememtery will confirm WHEN the slot will be, what day and what hour for the entombment...they ONLY do 5/day and nothing is done on the weekends.

You know what the "kicker" in all of this really is?

Supposedly, the Death Certificates, in the state of Illinois, are now, all electronic...so that meant that being electronic, it was SUPPOSE TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS....

AND THESE FREAKS WANT TO RUN OUR HEALTHCARE?????????????

THEY CAN'T EVEN GET THEIR OWN DAMN COMPUTERS TO WORK IN A TIMELY FASHION AND THERE'S NO NEED FOR HEALTHCARE IN THIS CASE! THE PERSON IS DEAD! WE CAN'T EVEN GET THE GOOBERMINNIES TO GET THE DAMN "PAPER/COMPUTER-WORK" DONE IN A TIMELY FASHION!!!!

AND THIS IS GOING ON IN THE VERY SAME STATE THAT "O" CAME FROM!!!!

I CAN NOT F***ING BELIEVE THIS!!!!!

Man, when I go, I want to spontaneously combust, right on the street, burn right down to the last toenail and blow away...screw the paperwork...

Sorry folks...I just had to vent...

I'll be better...I promise. :o

All of a sudden the switch went off and summer turned into summer! Heat and humidity and a bit less rain=a busy me. My "boss" is back from vacation so the service to our customers my reps. got accustomed to over these past 2 weeks has gone out the window. I keep telling them to be patient, the time will come.

That freaking tomato blight is really wreaking havoc around here (thanks to plants sold at Walmart, Lowe's & Home Depot!). I've been plucking leaves at the first sign of spotting or wilt and my poor 6' tall plants are about stripped to the very top leaves. As if that weren't enough, all the rain has really contributed to blossom end rot so the few early tomatoes I had all rotted on the ends. There are some more that have developed since and I've got my fingers crossed. The rest of the garden is doing pretty well except for my beans which are easily 2-3 weeks behind where they should be.

Aforementioned annoyances aside, it's not too shabby in the swamp. :)

Well, you have less time to procrastinate than you thought - party is the 1st :P. Looks like there'll be other board members there!

Definitely a kid friendly event (at least until the kids go to bed), so haul the whole crew down if you'd like - would love to meet you and yours in person.

I wish I could have worked it out somehow. How did the party go?

BTW, what DOES that plate on your friend's Beemer mean?

Full-Time 4-Wheeler?
Full-Time, Forward?
40 Men, Forward?
Eh????

LoL, TheDon hit it on the head.

I will snap some pictures of the G later. We got it back from the shop, as the door is going to take 3 weeks to get.

I guess they have to mine for the ore and then build it... ;)

Party was wonderful. Lots of hustling around to de-fur the house and build places to sit on the porch and stuff like that there (for the record: sunrise in Frederick, MD on August 1, 2009 was GORGEOUS!) segued nicely into a steady flow of folks - first arrivals ~ 1:00, last arrivals about 10:00. Lots of dead critter and corn and veggie burgers grilled, amazing home made cous cous, tater salad, bruschetta, pasta salad, and cheese cakes consumed, 4 gallons each peach tea and home made lemonade chugged. Judging from the clinking of the recycling bin at the end of the night, I'd guess more than a couple guests brought brews as well :P

Lots of other good foods brought by guests (all that stuff above was made by Darling Wife and dear friend Barb). Didn't come close to trying it all - and was in a constant state of stuffed ALL day long anyway. Had guests ranging from 8 months to 87 years, from far away as Florida, Connecticut, and Dominican Republic. All tolled we figure the total head count that came and went was somewhere around 55. Figuring out the foot count is more complicated since there were some 4 legged guests in addition to those 55, and we were too tired to do the math.

Wound the evening down after Dawn Darling (not to be confused with Darling Wife - Dawn's real name is Dawn Darling) showed up with all the fixin's necessary for multiple rounds of margaritas for the die hards (aka me, Darling Wife, and dear friends Barb and Louis). Lovely couple hours of sittin' and yakkin' and listening to the wind blow.

Sounds like a great time was had by all, Jim!

I just got back from visitng Uncle Zorro who is getting ready to visit the Rainbow Bridge and I gotta tell ya, he's getting the best care at the VA in Houston, TX. I am really impressed with the level of care he is getting there. He is comfortable and the nurses are doing all they can to make sure he is happy.
