Good luck with the visa Jim.

I'm waiting for my MIL to get here and watch the kids. Then I'm dropping the wagon off at a local indie shop to get an estimate on the front end rebuild. I hope the estimate is reasonable so I can just tell them to do the work and pick it up once it's done.

I hope to get more done on my veggie garden today too. I have two more fence posts to sink and then I can start attaching the stringer boards and pickets. I should be able to put some plants in there this weekend.:cool:

It's looking pretty good and I like the fact that I'm re-using the pieces of the fence that I replaced after an SUV ran through a section of it.

I just got the call from Zygmunt Auto. I only need a tie-rod, alignment and new tires (which I already knew).

I'll be picking up the wagon tomorrow with a chatter free front end and for a great deal less than I thought I might get hit for.:dancefool

Once I drive the car and see how the work is, I'll be adding Zygmunt to the PA service list thread. So far they have been outstanding.

That's all any car that's for sale needs, hope it works out for you too!

Getting ready for a few moments of eye-glazing, then I'll be back up and heading north for the morning...maybe in rain, maybe not...

Don't know what else is happening...will just be checking out the transmitter to be sure there's no leaks and squeels...

Later!

It's been raining on and off since the weekend and my lawn looks like a meadow. I fear for the sun now!

My daughter is supposed to have her first Little League Softball game tonight so I really hope the rain holds off. She seems to have the same natural talent she displayed on the basketball court, playing with her brother and I probably helped. I love watching her play/sing/act because she enjoys it so much. My son, OTOH, is so competitive that he lives and dies with every play on the field/court and I never know how he will react so I'm always tense at his games. He's right in the middle of the pack skill-wise although he did finally wear his glasses to batting practice, after weeks of our suggesting, and he started crushing the ball. Hopefully that will continue now that the lightbulb went off.

Isn't that the truth. Mine has gone from probably needing a mowing last Friday, to now it needs a mowing and a rake after.

I'm going to finish up the retaining wall this morning, and if it stays dry, I'll get to the mowing and raking.

Have fun at the ball game! Glad your boy is wearing the glasses, I had the same issue growing up, and coudn't get over the fact that other kids could actually see the ball coming.;)

There is a strange bright disk in the sky today something I haven't seen in two freaking weeks.....I am glad it stopped raining for a bit. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

What does it mean if I've gotten to the point of looking forward to Wednesdays and Fridays so I can jump into these threads and and write down enough of what is going on that I don't a) lose track of what is going on, and b) forget what else needs doing?
:P

Work stuff today, then this evening should be first one I get to spend at home with Darling Wife since returning from China (every other night has been back at the Cottage for Ma and Ed playing plumber - funny how much more you learn about existing (half arsed rube goldberg) plumbing when it is actually getting used).

Have settled into a lovely morning routine with Luke.... doh - don't think he's been introduced here - let's resolve that issue first.

10 days after we put Jack down, Luke meandered into our lives from a rescue in West Virginia. Calm, lovable, one bum eye (suspect buckshot found its way in), and turns out he came complete with his own entourage (worms) he simply had to come home.

Anyway, the morning routine is that I free Luke from his kennel (sleeps in it next to our bed) when I get up, and we walk the perimeter of our property a time or two. Makes for a wonderfully decompressed start to the day.

Hoping to get serious this week about finishing up our place in time for the FHA re-inspection due by 01 June; mostly cosmetics, but does involve removal of yet another plaster ceiling (getting way more practice at this than I'd ever expected to). That said, the weekend is booked - renting a truck Saturday, using it to pick up a rental sod cutter, destroying enough grass to make room for the 200+ now-honest-to-goodness-plants that Darling Wife started from seed, tilling said former grassy area, returning sod cutter, then using rental truck to get the (HOPEFULLY!) last of Ma & Ed's crap outta the town house in Baltimore.

well school is out for the summer and my summer classes start next week(my online classes start this week)

so I have the rest of this week off due to my job sucking major everything. I need something to do and I need to find a job that will pay me.

What a great day this turned out to be! It's perfect outside. Woohoo!

What Dee8go said... I'm doing some planting today with my two little helpers. We just got a bunch of seed from this great seed company, Hart's in Wethersfield, CT. Really nice people, very helpful and informative. Even saw a nice blue TD in the parking lot. :D

They're a bunch of a-holes, don't let the smiling faces fool you! :silly:

It's been a fairly busy day, no big phone sales per se, but lots of walk in customers of the homeowner persuasion and some smaller commercial growers doing some late planting. One with a very cute and polite little daughter who obviously takes after her mom. :D

It's been a steady stream, just enough from being too productive or hanging out in the Peach Pit.:)

Oldest daughter graduated from UI last weekend - she will be home Friday!! Pops can't wait.

Well, the Hump Day is off to a humpy start. I caught the corner of the house backing out the driveway this morning, nice little crease in the rear passenger fender just in front of the fuel door to the center of the wheel arch. :o:mad::o:mad: At least it's the fender with the patch of rust in it so I'd be addressing that spot sometime in the future. The grey house paint really accentuates it.

I guess I can't make fun of the 90yo neighbor's Grand Marquis, and its touch-and-go parking scars, anymore.
