I'm still waiting for my nipples to unperk from walking the dog this morning! It's freakin' chilly with the 30-40mph winds!

I FINALLY have my trailerload of peas, beans and corn on the rail headed East (up until 3-4 years ago we'd usually have it just after Thanksgiving). We've already packaged all of our carry-over on some items and need it here to finish filling orders. Those of you used to just-in-time delivery are probably used to this kind of thing! Altough J-I-T would have been two weeks ago.

Today will be spent by our 1/2lb. poly bagging machine figuring why it wants to dump every 5th bag on the floor. You'd be surprised how far a 1/2 lb. of pea seeds will roll when dropped from 3.5' when numb nuts leaves it unattended for a half hour and doesn't box it in.

Other than that, just happy the week is half over!

Soooo, what you're saying is that it's "nipply" out there, up there that way? Eh? (Is this where we start asking for "nipple" pictures? )

Sounds like you're stuffing 2 months of work into a single work week...

Ooooh, the day just got a little better! There's a nice lady here from the IRS (The front office knew they were coming but I've been running around getting all of the Secretary-related documents together that they need. Someone could have told me and I'd have had it ready! ). There is a degree of comfort knowing everything was done by the books.

Trust me, you don't want that! They look nothing like I imagine Mary's (of Christmas Vacation fame) do.

Although, I wouldn't mind a set of Clark's "c***-warmers" during the Swat-scene...

Cool Vacationing in Southern Calfornia where it's 85*

Been here about a week....

After I put in the new French yellow Bosch foglights and euro headlight wipers, it was time to hit the road, to Sothern Cali.

I have been down there playing for about a week now and loving it. (85* weather here brings out those girls in every iteration of sexy sundress you can imagine. Eve candy galore)

Went on a vintage Mercedes Benz W116/W123/W124/W126 diesel/gasser drive from The Mercedes Benz Classic Center, (where I spent heavily!!) then we drove out of LA and up the Angeles Crest National Forest all the way into into the 5,000 foot high snow country. Spctacular scenery!!! Great meet.

(My new signature pic is the second one of these)

Partying with friends the other night in Newport Beach the other night down by the Yacht Harbor.

Having a great time down here........

The machine does what you tell it to do 99% of the time. When it doesn't there's generally a reason, like not cleaning the feed roller like you're supposed to do. My little sticker on top of the machine next to the control board apparently isn't enough of a reminder.

And the reason there are some issues 1% of the time. Getting the year 2000 packaging technology to communicate with1960's vintage control technology with 1940's vibratory feeder technology with a early 90's vintage Toshiba laptop in between.

It's fun to watch all of the mechanical timers spin while it's running. And the smell of old electronics that waft out!

Swamp:

Thanks for the shots...now I understand this thing about frozen peas being turned into ball bearings and such...

BTW, for everyone else...how's the "O" hangover going today?

Went to a meeting after work last night...the folks were just about "O'd Out" as the term was being used...then we just started having Kamakazis and pretty soon, as someone would mention the Inagural...we'd just look at them and go "Oooooooo..."

It's funny...a few drinks and the most stupid thing you do is funny as hell...the women were giggling and the guys just looked at the floor and shook their heads...7 adults acting like lonely cows..."Oooooooo....Ooooooo...."

Anyways, that was a few hours ago...I left when they couldn't spell "Ooooooo" properly anymore...now I'm heading to bed for a few hours and will be laughing to myself in a few hours as I stare at them at the meeting table in the conference room...our "weekly" Manglers' Meeting...I'll be the most sober one in the room...and I'm not regretting stopping when I did...

Sitting in a conference room in Eningen, Germany waiting for the meetings to resume.

Got to drive an Avis rental car last night/this morning. Gotta say, an Audi A4 TDI 6-speed manual is a damn sight better than ANY rental I've ever had in the US!

And, purely hypothetically speaking, an Audi A4 TDI 6-speed manual is pretty impressively quick up to 180 kph even with 4 adults and luggage. Superbly stable at speed as well. Not that I would know based on empirical evidence, of course. Purely hypothetical.

In Philly for some sales manager/sales training. Yippee.

I'm taking my salespeople to the Flyers game tonight so at least there's something to look forward to.
