Going price for steel/scrap steel

Does anyone know the price of scrap steel in the northeast? We are looking to get rid of a few tons of steel and maybe a car body or two.
Thanks

Got rid of a cargo van a few months ago, stuffed with steel lockers and what not... got to figure it was somewhere close to 6,000 lbs. It netted about $380.00 after tire fees...

Call up a scrapyard and ask. Talk to them before you go anyways, so you dont look like a total noobie in the yard ;p
Been there, done that, it wasnt fun...

That's much better than I would have thought. I've heard that around here, it's roughly a penny a pound, IOW, $20 a ton. Couldn't be that much different on the east coast.

Steel is quite a bit more than $.01 now.

About one year ago is was $.033 and I'm sure at least $.05 now.

Considering that I'm paying $2.00-$7.00 for the new stuff.............
