I'm in the Durham area so I-85 goes right through town. I would have to drive about 2-3 hours straight up through Virginia to reach I-81.

Take I85 to Petersburg, then I95 the rest of the way. I think that's the most direct route from the Durham area.

OK, I would be leaving about 7AM and that would put me at DC at about 11:45 or so... No worse than driving to the outer banks I guess...

I had considered taking 17 out of Fredericksburg and coming around the back way so as to avoid the DC area all together.

Now to convince the GF to let me take off for the day!

The traffic going North on I 95 on a Saturday shouldn't be bad. 17 would probably be more scenic, but slower. Look forward to meeting you, Evan.

Well, if you're ever coming this way, let us know. We'll try to throw something together.

Monkey dance? My dancing has been compared to a gorilla on a hotplate - so it must look something like that.

Just got off the plane and about to put the pig in the smoker. Plenty of room inside plus I have a covered patio. Best place to park is the south side of the house. See you all tomorrow!
