So I'm guessing some of you guys wouldn't find my wardrobe "dapper"

This peasant coat, and my newly acquired dark rose Tibetan shirt are among my favorites.

And yes, I wear them with jeans.

Did find my tie collection post-move. Got some of the silly things dating back to the 70's. Other than funerals, haven't worn one in probably 5 years.....

Well, the belt fits through the belt loops on the pants, so definitely below the ribcage as well as the lovehandles.

C'mon Paul, dust off those mesh loafers and release your inner Sonny Crockett...a Testarossa would complement the look nicely.

I believe this is what Paul is describing. In that case I would go with the white wingtips...

I actually have a pair of Allen Edmonds mesh-topped wingtips in my closet. Color? "Chili", which is a tan with a bit of a redwood-like tint. $200+ and wore them once, which was plenty.

Well, I'm not attending a wedding. I just want to parade around the town square and look a wee bit cheesy.

What? I wear a brown belt with brown loafers or brown Dr. Martins or a black belt with black Dr. Martins or any of my black boots. Boy, I must be arrested vy the fashion police! Okay, I guess I won't do the jeans and tie anymore since having read all the posts I will feel a bit self-conscious now. The thing is that I don't like slacks, more the way they are designed. When it comes to dress pants, it's usually khakis or chinos, or whatever you call them. I prefer tan or light beige, but I am considering black ones to go with some of my shirts. I actually like the jeans (straight leg, preferably Levi's 501) and loafer look, plus a nice Polo longsleeve buttoned shirt. Classic?

Lately I've been finding myself preferring solid colors over plaid, which I happen to have many shirts in that "color." I really want to get a nice tweed jacket with leather elbow patches! Grr, but it's hard to find one that is my size (sm).

So professors wear jeans and tie too and not just hicks?

Paul was just teasing. He was making fun of all of this and going with the white belt and shoes.

Brown belt and brown shoes or black belt with black shoes, exactly correct.

No, I wasn't making fun of anything. It's a real issue for me as I'm going out in my matching car on Sunday and I want my attire to be impeccable:

Jesus, who did that to that car? Well at least it's in the same color family as the garbage cans.

Kind of reminds me of the color of my first car, a '57 Chevy in "Tropical Turquoise".

My dad had a 1955 Ford that was close to this they called it "Robin's Egg Blue."
