I've recently taken a liking to a mix of 1 part Kahlua, 3 parts Absolut Raspberry, and 2 to 3 parts St Brendans. I keep all 3 in the freezer, and mix them in a frozen wine glass.

I don't know if that's a compliment, that Honolulu has a large "metrosexual" population or a put down, that Honolulu has a large "metrosexual" population . .

The way I mix them you taste the vodka. When I do a rum and coke or vodka anything at least 1/4 of the glass is filled with it.

You should try one of my rum and cokes with 151, that will knock you down.

That is not just a MS thing--first time I ever saw someone order a "Redeye" was in the Poconos.

I've been drinking Boru Vodka lately and there is nothing smoother! >

Boru Vodka is made in Ireland from the best grain and most pristine water. The five times distillation process produces a clean vodka of unusual clarity and exceptional smoothness. It is named for the legendary king responsible for uniting Ireland, Brian Boru. Boru Vodka is also available in Citrus, Orange and Crazzberry flavors.

Try Boru Crazzberry and Pom (Pomegranate Juice). It's great!
I drink them while listening to jazz by the pool!

Its alright with a dash of tabasco, little salt and some lime as a first of the day boat drink, but not one of my favorites.

Effin Pom! Ought to be on the $2K pillow thread--had someone from the office put down for a case of it on the supply list last week (which I rarely check) and iirc it was like $100.

If you like the Wodka distillation process thingy, try to catch that Discovery Channel show on how they make Vodka. It has been discussed here before and is excellent!

I love a good martini, but have never figured out the attraction of vodka. After all, it is just alcohol, without even the little bit of flavor one finds in gin. Perhaps that is why it can be useful around the house in a pinch. Among other uses, one can use this expensively bottled and highly taxed version of ethanol to:

1. Shine chrome, glass and porcelain bathroom fixtures. Soak a soft, clean cloth with vodka and shine.

2. Remove stains by rubbing with a clean cloth soaked in vodka. Rinse thoroughly.

3. Clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers by filling a spray bottle with vodka, then spraying the caulking. Wait five minutes, then wash clean. Bonus: the alcohol in the vodka actually kills mold and mildew.

4. Remove the glue left behind by stickers and labels. Rub the glue with a soft, clean cloth soaked in vodka.

We suspect that vinegar will do much the same thing at lower cost, and that perhaps if you use the vodka in martinis you might not care how clean the house is, but there it is.
