There's a W123 wagon in the comedy-drama movie "Dan in Real Life".
It has a somewhat significant role in the movie. I'd recommend watching.

In the series first half (or more), Carmella Soprano drove a Mercedes Wagon (E320 I think?) before Tony bought her a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

I didn't pay any attention to them when the shows were new -- Mercedes weren't even blips on my radar when I was 12 -- but "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (TV, 1964-68) had quite a few. In one of the black-and-white shows, when the heroes were supposed to be on the Riviera, we see a fintail sedan: http://www.framecaplib.com/mfulib/html/episodes/images/nazarone/nazar237.htm (And yes, one of those two girls is Sharon Tate.)

In the second season, in back-to-back episodes set in Europe, we get first a 1950s 300S: http://www.framecaplib.com/mfulib/html/episodes/images/virtue/virtu006.htm (a very rare car; peculiar that it was available for use in the show . . .)

Cool stuff for a show which was filmed on the MGM lot and usually had GM products or Chrysler cars.

Another good movie was Road House in 1989 with Patrick Swazy. There is a wondefull 560SE. Unfortunalty it gets wrecked. 1986 Mercedes 560SEC. Blue with AMG Rims.

North by Northwest (1959): Cary Grant is kidnapped by spies/ruffians who pin him down on a couch, pour a bottle of bourbon into him and set him behind the wheel of a Mercedes which is pointed towards a cliff.

Initially shown comatose behind the wheel, Cary comes around long enough to shove his pudgy would-be assassin out of the car and drive down a purported suburban Long Island road that apparently rivals a cart path in the Italian Alps for topography changes and the quantity of hairpin turns. After seeing double for half of the drive, Cary sees a young boy riding a bike across his path (an uncredited performance by wee Brian Carlton) and stomps on the brake pedal. The results are below:

Just saw one in NCIS last night - a 124. It was pretty nice until the girl wrecked the heck out of it in reverse into a parked car at high speed...

Where exaclty do they get the cars like these Mercedes for the movies? Do they just rent them from the owners? I know with houses they just rent them out because my friend in Malibu, Ca rented his house for a commercial.
