Has anyone ever called a service dept for advice..??
I have a few times in my life just to see what part will cross with what or some other stupid question. I have owned Subarus all of my life so I know the local parts guy pretty good. He has even gone as far to run a VIN or two for me to look up service records.
Anyway, I call an Audi dealer to ask about service intervals on the timing belt. Just one simple question and the service guy hangs up on me when I start "I have a quick question I wanted to ask...." This has happened to me more than once.

I think he might have thought it was a telemarketing scam. You see, I have gotten a lot of those calls. Look in the malls around X'mas time. One of their famous lines is
Vendor: Excuse me miss. I have a question. Show me your hands. WTF? Show me your hands is not a question.

Seems like it would be in his job description to at least answer you, if only to tell you that it's top secret information. you might want to call national headquarters and complain/ ask them the interval.

You may want to ask for the shop foreman.
If they give you any crap, tell them you may have a buy back situation for a reoccuring problem. Either that or call an idependent shop which is usually smaller and easier to deal with with questions like that. |

Tell them you have a 2004 Audi S8 and are wondering when it's going to need T belts, and what it will cost.

"Alla de time"
MB shop ForePersons are Very helpful, when they are not buried in work.
Try asking the "Service Co-ordinator" for the Oldest, most Attitude Afflicted Wrench Turner in the shop...(Then stand by for a Ration of S**T) and un solicited mechanical advice!
