Bye bye Blackwater

Looks like the Iraqi govt. is allowing Blacwater's operatiing license to expire b/c the Iraqi investigation of that incident last year indicated misconduct and excessive force. For the record, I'm ok with Blackwater and glad they exist. However, I think this is a classic example of how things should work, and hope its an indication that we have a confidence level in their govt. to GTFO

Hopefully, their govt will rise to the occassion and find some way to get along without us, so Obama can make good on his promise to get us out of there.

I believe I read someplace that there is some connection between the owner of Blackwater's mother and individuals in the previous administration.

It would not surprise me if it was true because war profiteers like them usually are well connected to get the contract they do.

The fact that they commit war crimes comes as no paricular surprise either, because under the rubric of the previous administration they are protected from accountability and punishment if they do, in virtually every single case.

Their existence parallel to the US troops in Iraq must be particularly grating to the US troops, (to say nothing of the Iraqis) if for no other reason they are SO much more highly paid for being over there in that hellhole than our troops are.

Small Okinawa style occupado is ok by me. Just bring enough back to stop the budgetary hemorrhage and all the bandwagon hippie *****ing.

I recently saw part of Erik's pitch to an international shipping consortium (on TV). He has or is going to have some of those contracts already. Several others had previously been let.

There is 8 Navy's patrolling the waters right now, from what I'm told the only way to curtail the piracy at this point is attacks on the pirate bases, that'd be some good $hit IMO. blow the f-ers to kingdom come.
