It's all in how you ask questions, same for any poll.

There are lots of studies over many years and they indicate that the USA is still a strong majority Christian nation.

It gets tricky when they start asking about beliefs. How do we know how strongly beliefs are held? How many answer out of rote?

No doubt. But Time magazine did a religious survey in the last few years and I remember reading that 20-25% of those Christians don't believe God interacts with daily life on Earth. Basically he has better things to do. As far as belief in evolution goes, from what I saw in another survey it's about 2/3 and about half of those also believe in God. Still somewhat worrisome, but not nearly as bad as the stats in your article.

Which means 75% to 80% of those Christians do believe God interacts with daily life on Earth. Coincidentally, taht is the same figure as quoted in the article I posted. It's neat how the psychology interpalys with reading data.

Because you don't think their belief is based on reality does not mean that they don't have faith. The trick is how to deal with the faithful in a way that is both rational and constitutional, from their side and yours. It's not a single answer, one-time solution. The relationship evolves.

You're cherry-picking and not even using the correct numbers. You article says 90% of Americans believing in an interacting God. That's quite higher. The main difference is how many believe in evolution. From what I remember reading elsewhere it's about 2/3 which is a lot more than your 25%. But half of those 2/3 believe evolution is overseen and regulated by God.

Have you ever been to someplace like Chicago where you can almost chew the air ?

You have to admit we are putting a lot of crud into the air.

I can see how all that stuff in the air can have an effect on our weather.

They have allways called them greenhouse gasses because of their effects on the planet.

More polution in the air that acts like a greenhouse, higher tempratures.
Why dont you see how that is possible ?
What evidence can you point to that it is not possible.

Personally I dont care to breathe the crud in the air.
