Air rifle reccomendation

In order to avoid problems with zoning, I'm looking into getting an air rifle to cure a rodent infestation. We're in-town, so a .22 is out of the question.

My budget is around $100ish, the max range is 100ft, and sometimes will be inside(with glasses on)

Also, I would like it to reliably kill the squirrel/rat/whatever in the first shot. Not a fan of hurt critters crawling off into the walls.

Recommendations?

Daisy Red Ryder!

I had a Daisy M853 Pneumatic Target Rifle in high school for rifle team, that surely killed its share of extra credit.. aka rodents on the range But that one was modified for competition target matches and such.

I had one years ago when I was five. My step dad got me it for me and we had fun shooting at bottles and cans. My former marine uncle stepped me up to .22's when I was 7 and a 30-30 when I was 10. I also have a competition 12 guage that belongs to me in his gun safe.

The Red Ryder will probably do the job, plus its only $40. I wish I still had one to tool around with and shoot cans with in the back yard.

Crosman 1077

OR

Nightstalker!! (for fun, of course)
http://www.crosman.com/airguns/rifles/co2/NS1200

I don't know if the Red Ryder will do the job, though..I have no first hand experience with small rodents, but I'm seeing FPS rating between 280 (questionable) to 325 to 480.

I'd want at least 400 fps if I wanted to kill something. My gf's dad has killed some rabbits with my air pistol, which was rated at 480bb / 435 pellet.

If you care about a clean kill at 100 ft., the Red Ryder won't cut it. For a squirrel, I wouldn't use it at any distance. Small rats - maybe close up.

Beeman has a few low end, Chinese models - the RS1 ain't bad. It's accurate enough, and more importantly has the power to kill a rat/squirrel at the distance you are looking for.

Usually, it's around $100 - just found it for less here.

Don't know anything about the dealer above...I've seen the RS1 at local sporting goods dealers as well.

I have a single pump spring/air rifle with a scope. With hunting pellets loaded it will kill squirrels. It has a small scope too and it's perfect for everything down to small mice and voles around 100 feet away. The single shot will make a man out of you but usually you don't get more than one at a time anyway...

I think it was about $89 at k-mart but I don't remember the name or model.

OK, I found it, it's this one:

Here's another link for pricing:

I grew up with a Crosman 760 powermaster, damn did I ever get into trouble with that

I recommend a pump action, so you can attenuate the power based on the backdrop.

Clean kill = Sheridan. I don't know if I would use oneinside though. Oh this reminds me of my younger days as a lad, where if it moved in the backyard, it was toast if I could hit it. I am ashamed to say, lizards, sparrows, mockingbirds, doves, even cardinals were victims of mine.
