I said I was a convicted felon. They said see ya. The letter in post #1 is spot on. It's not a civic duty. Courts are really for generating revenue. Judges and cops are nothing but tax collectors.

I'll bet it costs more to have them on the payroll than they collect/raise.
Since your sharing how did you get convicted of a felony? How badly did the cops go out of their way to single out you? How much in fines did they collect and how much time did they spend? We should be able to do the math in a few posts.

Really? Perhaps we should close all the courts and fire the cops. Sure, the traffic cops are for generating revenue since most of the cases rarely make it to anything more than a court appearance and a fine. OTOH, would you like to have a couple guys rape your butt and you have no recourse? What about someone torching your possessions and your insurance company tells you "Tough. We aren't paying. Don't like it? Take it to court. Oh wait, scratch that. There is no court."? Without court, how do you plan to enforce your contracts?

BTW, in spite of all his bravado, he had to go back to court.

The document, of course, did not sit well with court officials and led a judge to threaten to jail Slye. But after being summoned to court, Slye apologized for the affidavit and avoided being cited on a criminal failure to appear rap.
