I'm So Frigging Sick! Will I Ever Get Better?

I have never been this sick in my life! Tomorrow will be two weeks! First Doc said it was a severe cold and the second said bronchitis. My throat is on fire and I feel awful! I'm on antibiotics and codeine laced cough syrup. Nothing seems to help! I haven't been this sick in my life! I keep telling the wife what the Doc says she needs to do to make me feel better and she won't co-operate. In all seriousness, I fell like hell!

I'm sure you heard the story about the guy who went to the doctor with his wife. The doctor called the wife in and told her that her husband was very sick and that he would need a lot of special care including a good breakfast, lunch and dinner. The house would need to be tranquil and neither the wife or the children should ever upset her husband. The doctor also said that there was one last thing that being that the wife would need to perform her wifely duties whenever her husband desired. The wife thanked the doctor and she and her husband left the doctor's office.
On the car ride home the husband asked his wife what the doctor told her.
She replied saying, "You're going to die."

Did the doc swab you for strep? Everytime I've felt like that, I've had strep throat.

I have felt like crap all this week. Since monday, between my stomich protesting and crapping like crazy, bursitis in my right shoulder, and a very painful ingrown/infect toe nail.

I hope you get better! Try some orange juice it may help a bit. Whenever I get sick it helps.

Progression. From cold it became bronchitis. It can progress to pneumonia if you are not careful. Been there, done that, again and again.

Try asking for Tussionex. Tastes like pina coladas. Boom Boom long time. 12 hrs. Much more gentle than the codine laced stuff.

BTW, when you feel so bad that you need an IV because you can't keep meds down and even getting some in the bathroom doesn't make you feel too much better, you have arrived at the lowest point. You are not there yet. Been there and done that, WITH the IV in the arm.

Bronchitis can be miserable. Felt like a steel band around my chest. It was like a coldx20 and lingered for weeks. Mine started after I spent a day grilling chicken and burgers over a big coal grill. I've heard that smoke can trigger it.

For upset stomach and digestion problems, try a few ginger root crystals. It gives almost instant relief.

Being sick sucks!! Hope it goes by tomorrow, unless it can go today..

I agree with the crystalized ginger.

I also agree with the ginger. Here is what I do when I have a sore throat. Take some straight hydrogen peroxide and gargle with it. It is NASTY and you will be spitting foam but it will kill the bacteria in your throat. Just do not swallow it under any circumstances.

Get better soon.

Hey at least you are not oinking with piggy flu...

Thanks for the well wishes and the thoughtfulness of taking care of my Maserati. Shortly after the original post, I downed a couple of shots of Jameson and went to bed. Slept for 14 hours straight! I am feeling a little better. Hopefully this will soon be over.

Take two more shots and call us in the morning

btw, have you tried Jameson's Redbreast? Very nice. Pure Pot Still whiskey which gets largely overlooked.

I've never heard of it. Not sure if it's available in VA.

Jameson's breast is not red. I have seen it enough times to know that. She is a blond and reasonably fair skinned. See my avatar.

I have to special order it here in CT, but the liquor store owner is very accommodating. Worth the 2 day wait.
