The funny thing about cash for clunkers that is it must get 18 MPG or below so the odds of having any diesel benz crush is low....

It scares me now that the gov might just try and take our cars from us in the near future. I personally think global warming is a hoax. GE stands to make a killing from the whole wind thing. In WV we have not had one day in July reach 90.....says something.

Global warming isn't a hoax, it's a fact that the temps are increasing on average. You can't point to the coldest summer on record as evidence; it's a blip in the radar, not an established pattern. What is a hoax is that the heating is caused by mankind when it's clear that the sun has a hell of a lot more of an affect on the planet's temps than mankind.

Actually, very little. Piece of cake. I sold my '76 chev van on the same program for $600 about 18 months ago. Dang, I could have gotten a $4500 trade-in or $1 K form the air quality district if I'd waited. And if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass when it hops.

On FOX last night, one guy was defending clunkers, saying those were his first cars, and they did him just fine. Oh golly, if only jack-booted thugs weren't forcing people to turn their clunkers over at the same they're making people fill out a form on how they want to die.

Newer cars use less fuel and pollute less. People can be stubborn. Little bit 'o cash loosens up their reluctance.

I guess what I am saying is that I don't believe it is man made. That is of course a personal opinion. However when the gov decides it thinks it can take my beloved diesels because it thinks they cause global warming I will have to create my own compound. Al Gore and his crew use more fuel than I will use in a lifetime just for one trip. I think this is the ultimate hypocracy.

And that's one of my biggest problems with it too, but in my forty years on this planet, I've learned one thing that seems to be true in all cases - politicians are the biggest hypocritical dirtbags to roam the earth and I have zero idea how in the hell they live with themselves.

Oh, I'm sure they live very well, unless they get caught.

Over the last 40 years of MY experience, I've noticed that the word "statesman" has fallen into disuse...

Maybe we need a "Cash for Charlatans" program to update our Congress.

Yeah, it doesn't look too hard. You just need to have owned the thing for two years and it can't be stripped, gotta driver her in.
Don't feel bad about that $4500 though, the car can't be more than 25 years old to qualify for that.

I might just have to grab the grand, but i only feel bad cause this is a rust-free MBZ coupe that should at least have parts saved. It is a collectors item. Seems like such a shame to crush...
