In my opinion ( for what THAT is worth) is that SP is more useful as a lightening rod to the left. Her ability to irritate the Left is her most useful commodity.
Her political instincts are nearly perfect; she is, however, flawed in that she is unable to speak intelligently beyond those instincts.
Good as a commentator.

Personally, I like the fact that Sarah uses plain ol' english. For the life of me I can't figure out what is so "intelligent" about someone who says they are giving you money, when they are actually picking your pocket. I think it just pisses off the elitists that she didn't go to an Ivy League college, yet so many people like her. The so called intelligence that Sarah supposedly lacks seems to only be necessary when you are trying to fool all of the people all of the time. I'll take morals and principles over degrees and verbiage any day.

BTW- how many states are in the US according to BHO?

I like the idea of government spending being cut significantly. Especially social programs. Raise the retirement age for SS to 70? Maybe but possibly not as doable as people like to think. Despite myself I'm leaning more and more towards the idea of an isolationist position on foreign policy that says end foreign wars, bring the troops home and slash military spending big time. Oh and definitely end foreign aid.

However.

I'm not ignorant of history and have the uneasy feeling that just because we like to think we can bury our heads in the sands of isolationism doesn't mean we can, in fact, get away with that.

Ignorance of history after all is what largely got us in this current mess with the burst housing market.

Oh come on. The American people have surely been more insulted. For instance how about our politicians ( all parties) who tell us that the accumulating debt is not a problem?

I'm sorry. As much as I find her attractive and would bed her in a heartbeat, Rock Star Status is NO EXCUSE. Suppose she had become the VP. What then? Think it gets better? Remember Bush and his daughters? What about Cheney and his lesbian daughter? Spotlight will be on you. If you don't want that, tough. Be Mrs Nobody. Don't run for Governor or VP. Don't write a book. Take a job as a cashier at a Wal*Mart. Oops. Sorry. Playboy had "Women of Wal*Mart" already. Pressure from the media is not an excuse for quitters. Serve out your term and don't re-run. IF she had stepped up and got the VP job, you can say she went for a higher calling to serve her country and not just her state. This case, she couldn't stand the pressure or she didn't consider things ahead of time. Neither of them are good traits

Why isn't she supporting the Tea Party Candidate J. D. Hayworth in AZ? Heck why does she support Scott Brown who is pro-choice?
