I think some of it is diet related. People who love garlic generally have it coming out of their pores, and it smells pretty bad. Sometimes its even worse when they try to cover it up with perfume.

I'm not totally convinced of that. How would garlic smell come out of their pores after it has been digested by the stomach acids and what not. I mean, isn't that like taking oral supplements like glucosamine? You are never sure as to the bio-availability.

They are marinading themselves from the inside.

Ask them when no one else is around, or email them about it. Usualy if you point it out to them in the right way they will fix it.

I wouldn't email them. I don't like anything in writing if I can help it. That is, unless you go to a public library and set up a gmail or hotmail, etc, etc account and send it to them.

Do you know what sexual harassment is? I don't think anybody does for certain. Basically from what I can see, it is "If I take offense, it is SH and you are so screwed.".

My friend who is an alcoholic smelled horrable. I had him living with me for a while trying to help him get his act cleaned up. I would actully tell him he stank on a regular basis, he would shower some times twice a day, and he still stank. I think the amount of alcohol in his body must have played a role in his oder.

BTW he never got clean, I don't know where hes at today... kinda sad. I bet he still stinks.

We had a young girl working with us for a while who stunk really bad. She was about 5ft tall and weighed probably a little over 300lbs. She stunk from a combination of BO and rotten cheese. Someone had pointed out that overweight people (with a lot of folds in the skin) had problems like that sometimes. When they sweat or if they do not dry properly under the folds, it will be kind of like athlete's foot.

HR should do something about it. Someone is afraid to say something.

Years ago, I was pretty strict with my diet. Mostly vegetarian and I had studied food combining which made sense to me. But when I'd go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I'd go into serious hog out mode - it's sorta hard to say no to Mom when she puts the standard holiday fare on the table.

Later in the evening, almost always, I'd catch a whiff of my pits at bedtime. WOOO-EEEE, there was suddenly some nasty stink going on that I hadn't smelled in some time.

I don't know about that. Can the food get digested and sent all the way to the skin in a matter of hours?

The stomach pretty much 'cooks' everything eventually, once it gets there. But before that there is contact in the mouth and esophagus. Plenty of time for trans-dermal diffusion directly into the blood stream. I think alcohol starts absorbing right away in the stomach.

I think alcohol absorbs from anywheres. IIRC, alcoholics avoid mouthwash with alcohol for that reason. Whether food can be done like that I am not totally sure. That is why I raised that question. Anyone know some science paper that shows one way or the other?

What I have been reading, and I might be wrong, is that while esophageal absorption is possible (water, alcohol), because of the speed the food is going down, it is not going to absorb a whole lot. It has to stay somewhere to be absorbed.
