Whom? Debaters! Particularly between those who believe the current trends of global climate fluctuation are a net negative and that curtailing certain human activities will significantly affect those trends vs. those who do not ascribe to that doctrine.

I don't know if it has any effect on the weather. The main reason NASA keeps up with this is that as the solar storm passes Earth it will have a negative effect on our Microwave communications.

Sat Nav systems and Sat linked control systems will need to be monitored during this time. We used to station people at sites that could be shut down by this during the time the storm was passing.

The storm takes about two or three days to pass. One thing that is interesting during one of these is that the Northern LIghts can sometimes be seen as far south as Dallas.

Media Matters doesn't pretend otherwise. They brag about their opposition to Fox.I was not aware that the debate is intensifying, although I have seen Fox's efforts to make it appear so.
