When you are on Orlistat, you have to be careful a day or two after you take it till a day or two after you take it. If you are going to eat a lot of food with high fat, you will have those issues. OTOH, if you stick to lower fat foods, you have less problems. It IS that simple. If you eat a huge steak with bacon on your potatoes and lots of butter, obviously you will lose a lot of fat but it goes somewhere. If you eat sensible, it won't be as bad. Your call.

I read a first hand account by a fit guy who gained a lot of weight just to test this. It keeps your intestine from absorbing fat, but thats okay because your underwear takes up the slack.

activity is a small part. the body is very efficient. marathon runners only burn like 2500 calories in 23 miles

The key is eat less. Of course I know that. but like a smoker I have a food addiction. and I love breads and milk and all the things you cant eat. I go to the gym 4 days a week and get 3hrs/week cardio. Im just looking for a little help without the worry of some other new problem.

Lap bands are very popular here. I have seen people shed a lot of weight in a hurry, later you hear how it happened.

Thing about any drug is that it is hard to know what it will do with you for certain. My suggestion would be to try a bit and see what happens. Monitor yourself closely and see the changes. For me, because I don't want to change my diet, I have to find some way to dump the fat. You can take it with a meal that you know is going to be high in fat and skip it when not.

AFAIK, once the band is off, all bets are off and they can gain the weight back again.

I think if came to having to lose it with or without surgery I would do it without. I am not in dire need, just would like to have a little less of me
