Seriously, how many on this forum, alone, get a government check each month? Do you, also, have outside income? Do you even report it?

How about the rest of us? Do we report EVERY PENNY as required?

Why don't we shut down all the "entitlement spending" that's been stacking on top of the regular, "required" spending that the government has to do?

BECAUSE OUR LEGISLATORS DON'T WANT TO UPSET THE APPLE CART.

AND, when you have 45% (purportedly) of the Americans EXPECTING some free handout from the government...well...the odds of getting that changed, or reduced, are getting VERY NARROW.

Doesn't look like America is going to make to 2050, let alone 2025.

Now, when the HC Debacle kicks in, in a few years here, wellllllll.....everyone will be sucking "hind tit" and like I said, 2025 will be just a number on the new country's calendar.

Unless Congress gets serious, FAST, we're done for. The Chinese won't be able to get 10˘ on the $1.00 for America's debt and it will be even less for anyone else.

So, WGAS if the rich are getting richer? Their money will be about as useful as a wet Sears & Roebucks in an outhouse. Just like ours. Only the pile will be higher and wetter.

So, if you're really serious about getting the money situation straightened out, quit reading about Ann Rynd or Karl Marx or any other happy horsechit philosophies out there and get real with the country's checkbook. Quit writing blank checks to every lazy-ass Tom, Dick and Houdini out there and pay what needs to be paid, cancel EVERY FRICKIN' PROGRAM PUT INTO PLAY FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS and get the hell out of any war that's not in our interest...if we have nothing to gain from it, 'F' it. And if the bleeding is still there, go back another, and another, and another year 'til the flow is stopped...then one more year for good measure.

And quit blamin' anyone. It wastes time, it's childish, it isn't solving any problems and it just goes to prove that the fingerpointer is nothing more than a bit of the problem themselves. Wrap that finger around a shovel AND START SHOVELING.

And to top that all off...STFU. We've heard it over and over and over....

This was one of the most entertaining posts I've read on here in a long time! For some reason I read it in Larry David's voice...

I love a "simplistic analysis." It goes to show how shallow the respondent can truly is. Instead of a humorous response or an analytical observation, a catch-phrase is usually the respondant's choice when the argument has been seen to have been won by the person that is suppose to be stung by the "biting comment(s)."

Thanks for the affirmation!

Actually, I didn't bother reading most of it; I've heard it all before and I'm still not going to get excited about every economic blip that comes along. I just thought the Larry David reference was funny.

"Thou watcheth too much television."

BTW...my station runs that tripe...after midnight...and if we should go off the air, I'm not going to be in too much of a rush to hurry up and get it back on.

That show (Curb Your Enthusiasm) along with Entourage are about as narcissistic as a pair of shows can be and for some reason unknown to anyone, they're both still on the air.

And people are paying money to air them...

I'm sorry to see that you have some sort of knowledge about them, let alone the characters' actual names and related minutia.

Sort of like that Garry Shandling show...The Larry Sanders Show - only it's available on real TV stations...not on HBO, exclusively.

Was the military industrial complexes corporate welfare checks on your list to be cut. Like cancelling the JSF program for one. How about agribusiness subsidies. How about cutting tax loopholes for the wealthy and corporations. Bet not.

In the final anyalisis all the individual can really do is row their own boat. Expecting external conditions to help out or change would be nice but not very likely.

There is nothing really in sight to expect any changes from government growth as it empowers them more and more. Power tends to like more power.

The issue with it has always been the same. No assuming responsibility as a real component of additional power. The rational if any does not really matter it just is what it is.

The cycle has existed so long now that there is no end in sight. A change would seem so radical as to almost mitigate it's possibility.

Not taking sides, not placing a precedence over another...just start from the Last Program In, First Program Out...then 2nd, 3rd and so forth.

Somewhere, the equalibrium has to kick in.

If it doesn't, keep cutting.

We're sinking and no one is noticing that their feet are under water and their pants are wet.

Here is a refresher to this mindless discussion:

George Carlin - The American Dream
