I text a good deal. It's easier than calling sometimes.

I use "BusyToDo" as a to-do list manager on my iphone because it integrates with my desktop calendar applications pretty well.

I almost never use my phone as a phone, but I can exchange e-mail just as fast as texting from my phone and everyone has e-mail on their phones now.
