Try isuzupup.com.
Questions about Chevette diesels come up there occasionally, and there are a few guys on there who know the pumps.

does anyone know if any of these were turbo at all? It's on my list of things to find out. a turbo would help the noise level too...

The Pup trucks had a larger 2.2l engine. None came stock with a turbo but while browsing, I found a nice long thread where a guy turbo'd his Opel with the same engine.
I believe it was on a VW forum. So you didn't go through with the plan to fit an OM616 to the train?

I was overruled by a hydraulics engineer who thought his system would be far superior.... Not happy about it but whats done is done. I'm going to be building a Mercedes Railbus instead. More fun and it's my own project. Nobody to tell me no...

That's basically a Bosch VE pump made under license.
Here's a typical Bosch pump rebuild, if it helps any , from a VW: http://gnarlodious.com/Vanagon/Bosch_Pump/-Rebuild You might get some help from one of the old VW forums, like: http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=26541.0

Well, I just did some reading up on this Chevy. Turns out it was not sold with A/C, so I guess that is why no dealer in Texas would carry one.
MPG seems to be about 42 with normal driving at 55 mph, so I will just stick with my 1992 2.5 liter 300D which gets 36 mpg at 70 mph with the A/C on. Still... It is fun to know about these things. |

I dont know where this engine came from... the pan has been Tapped and capped so It looks like a oil feed line or a return or something, It's just odd... I'm going to see what I can find to retrofit one on this, a little holset or something would do nicely
